We are working with The Patient Revolution to coordinate a special event in Seattle around our October 11th Meetup. We are reaching out to find interested women (35 to 45) in Seattle and the South Sound who are willing to host a small discussion about shared decision making and mammography screening.

Please share with friends and colleagues who may be interested in hosting.

If interested, contact us here and we can provide more information. Thanks!

COMMUNITY PROGRAM FOR SHARED DECISION MAKING — BREAST CANCER RISK AND MAMMOGRAPHY SCREENING IN YOUR 40s
We are looking for a few women who would be willing to serve as hosts for facilitated discussions about breast cancer risk and the decision to have mammography screening in your 40s. The event is not a lecture and is not advocating that women do or do not pursue mammography screening in their 40s. Instead, the purpose is to share information and create a space where each woman can begin considering what may be best for them.

The activity runs about 60-75 minutes and is essentially an interactive, facilitated discussion. It's designed for women between 35-45. We'll be talking and sharing information about the risk of breast cancer and the decision to use mammography screening in your 40s. (This is why we target women who are about to make this decision or are currently making it.) We've previously hosted in the library and people's homes. There are usually 10-15 women present.

WHO PUTS THIS ON?
The events are put on by The Patient Revolution, a non-profit working to build a movement for careful and kind care. The materials and activities for this event have been co-developed with clinical teams at Mayo Clinic and Yale New Haven Hospital. If you're interested in hosting and would like to learn more, let us know and we'll connect you with the director of The Patient Revolution (who will also be the facilitator at the event.)
