Today is Juneteenth, a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration.
It's an opportunity to recognize a pivotal moment in American history, honor Black resilience and achievement, and reflect on the work that still remains to create a more equitable future.
Earlier this week, we hosted an allyship panel at Amperity. One of the things I appreciated most was the reminder that allyship isn't a destination. It's an ongoing commitment to listen, learn, ask questions, and show up for one another in meaningful ways.
If you're looking to spend some time learning today, a few resources I'd recommend are The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson, Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, and the incredible digital exhibits from the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Learning doesn't happen in a single conversation or on a single day. But days like Juneteenth are an important reminder to keep making the time for it.
