West Central Sebeka

Clint Eastwood directed this 2006 film about the men who raised the U.S. flag over Mount Surabachi at the Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in World War II. The photo of this event became one of the most memorable, stirring, and iconic war images ever. Flags of Our Fathers explores the aftermath of the flag raising, and how several of those traumatized men went back to the U.S. as heroes and were used to promote war bond sales. Most of all, we see how they react to the fame and struggle with the hero status. The film stars Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Bradford, and Adam Beach. Flags of Our Fathers is now streaming on Prime Video.
