The Shelby CarvePrize wraps up this year’s exhibit with an exciting festival, and we’re ready for you!

We highly encourage you to bring a lawn chair so you can relax and enjoy the carving demonstrations and live auction. Don’t worry if you forget—we’ll also have 400 banquet chairs available on site.

🌟 Carver Spotlight: Steven Drenth 🌟

Meet Steven Drenth, one of the talented artists featured in the Durga Insurance Group - Farm Bureau Insurance Shelby CarvePrize Exhibit! This spotlight is proudly sponsored by envigor and Springstead Law Offices, P.C.

Steven is the artist behind Drenth Design Chainsaw Carving, with a lifelong passion for creating art across many mediums. He began chainsaw carving in 2018 and quickly discovered it was the perfect fit for his creative style. By 2020, he turned that passion into a full-time career.

Today, Steven crafts unique wood sculptures from his home workshop in Kalamazoo, where he works alongside his wife and three daughters. He’s grateful to do what he loves and for the support he’s received along the way.

His featured pieces, “A Mother’s Love” and “Breaking the Surface” (pictured), highlight his talent and dedication to his craft. 🌲✨

The Southern Oceana Area Chamber has a new website, and we got to build it!

When the Shelby and New Era chambers merged, we helped with their rebranding, and now a custom site to go with it.

It's made to show off the Oceana County area to visitors or those thinking about moving here, and it lets chamber members manage their own profiles and post events.

We're proud members ourselves, so this one was extra fun.

Had a great time this morning connecting with some fantastic local businesses at The Starting Block, Inc.

Learned a lot about the Starting Block and what a pillar it is in the community. Some really unique businesses are made possible by this facility. Creativity and starting something fresh is incredibly hard, so it's refreshing to see this resource available in the City of Hart.

Thanks for putting this month's event together Oceana County Economic Alliance (and for the coffee Dark Water Coffee)!

The Shelby CarvePrize Festival open-air gallery officially started today! From May through July, stop by downtown Shelby and vote for your favorite entry.

To vote, you'll need to register first: https://www.shelbycarveprize.com/vote/

During registration, you’ll need to verify you're in the Village of Shelby.

- Tap “Check My Location” to verify you're in Shelby.
- Fill out the quick registration form.
- Confirm your email, check your inbox for a link.

Once registered, you can log in from anywhere to vote daily for up to 3 of your favorite entries.

We launched the new site for the Shelby CarvePrize Festival, a open-art gallery, and carving competition in the Village of Shelby, MI.

Beyond the design, we launched with a custom voting system with: geo-fenced voter registration, email confirmation, a daily multi-pick ballot, a live leaderboard, and a full admin dashboard for the festival team to manage voters, entries, and results in real time.

Off the shelf options didn't cut it, so we built around the Festival’s needs.
