Seeking Broadband Member Engagement Specialist:

Shelby Electric Cooperative (SEC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Broadband Member Engagement Specialist. This position is full-time and will work 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

This position is one of the first points of contact with all of our members. It is imperative that this person be able to provide prompt, courteous, friendly service to our member-owners and visitors.

Applicants must be able to pass pre-employment screenings that include a background check and drug testing.

We'd like to say WELCOME back Aiden Hardy who is joining us again this summer to assist with ShelbyFiber, PWR-net, and other duties as assigned. Aiden is a 2026 Shelbyville High School graduate who plans on attending Lake Land College in the fall and will pursue a degree in Computer Science.

He has enjoyed working at the cooperative the past few summers and is looking forward to helping out anyway he can.

PWR-net Internet Outage Update:

Will-Hill East and North feed are back up. South feed base station is being replaced now.

Cowden has been back up, however, there appears to be a few lingering issue and IT is looking into it.

We know how important internet is in our lives, so we again, appreciate everyone's patience!

Might be good to power cycle (reboot) your equipment.

PWR-net Internet Outage Update:

Cowden is back up.

Techs restored Dalton City and Bethany/Sullivan this morning.

Climbers are currently on Will-Hill heading up to change out the 3 damaged base stations.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to repair our network following a lightning strike from Monday's storms.

PWR-net Internet Outage update:

PWR-net techs were able to restore some of the system over night. Some customers on the east side of network and west side of network are back up. This morning they will be hooking a generator up that should bring Dalton City /Bethany / Sullivan feeds back up.

Cowden will be the next gateway they will work on and then tackle Will Hill - East, North & South that are still down. To fix this will require a tower climb.

PWR-net Outage:

The Dalton City, Bethany, and Sullivan Gateways are down as Dalton City Elevator is having their electrical service updated and this will take a few days. Techs are working on a temporary fix that will bring all three gateways back up.

We'd like to say WELCOME to Ryne Peavler who is joining us this summer to assist with ShelbyFiber, PWR-net, and other duties as assigned. Ryne is a 2026 Shelbyville High School graduate who plans on attending the University of Illinois in the fall and will pursue a degree in Engineering.

He is looking forward to helping out anyway he can and excited for the opportunity to learn new skills over the summer.
