Our very own, Harris Rosensweig, from TCS Access, had the privilege of attending the 2024 Visions Conference in Chicago, IL, last week hosted by Foundation Fighting Blindness. This impactful event brings together experts in vision research and advocacy to drive advancements in treating and curing blinding retinal diseases.

Foundation Fighting Blindness is dedicated to advancing research for preventions, treatments, and cures for retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, and other retinal degenerative diseases. The TCS Access team had a wonderful time engaging with campers at the Deaf-Blind Camp of Maryland this week, where we discussed the National Deaf Blind Equipment Distribution Program (also known as iCanConnect), for which we serve as state representatives in DC, MD, and VA. It was a pleasure to provide campers with the chance to explore the cutting-edge technology available through the program, including braille displays, large-screen monitors, iOS devices, and more.

iCanConnect is a nationwide initiative that provides free equipment and one-on-one training to individuals with significant vision and hearing loss, empowering them to stay connected with friends, family, and their community through long-distance communication. TCS Access had the privilege of meeting with Mayor's Office of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing - moddhh to discuss the iCanConnect Program. We were thrilled to collaborate with the MODDHH team to support the deafblind community in the DC area. It was inspiring to see their passion and enthusiasm for accessibility and inclusion, and we look forward to working together to promote programs like that make a positive impact on people's lives.
