🚨 Your Firewall Is Not Enough Anymore
Hot take: A firewall alone is not a cybersecurity strategy in 2026.
We still see businesses that believe firewall = security.
Unfortunately, that’s no longer true.
Here’s what a modern security stack actually looks like for a small & medium business:
🔥 Next‑Gen Firewall (NGFW) — still necessary, but it’s just the front door
🖥️ MEDR (Managed Endpoint Detection & Response) — detects threats that bypass perimeter defenses
👤 MITDR (Managed Identity Threat Detection & Response) — monitors for compromised Microsoft 365 accounts
📊 SIEM — correlates logs across systems to identify attack patterns
🎓 Security Awareness Training — because humans are still the most targeted attack surface
🔐 MFA everywhere — no exceptions
A firewall is good at stopping known bad traffic.
Modern attacks rely on legitimate tools, stolen credentials, and trusted software to move undetected.
This is called “living off the land”—and it’s how most ransomware attacks happen today.
If your cybersecurity strategy starts and ends with a firewall, we should talk.
