I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want Mr. IT & Associates to be known for.

Yes, we provide managed IT services. We do cybersecurity, cloud, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AI governance, integrations, automation, strategic planning, help desk support, and all of the other things you would expect from a technology partner.

But I don't believe our greatest competitive advantage is technology.

It's how we partner with people.

I've spent a lot of years sitting on the other side of the table. I know what it's like to have vendors trying to sell you something you don't need. I know what it's like to manage budgets, answer difficult questions from leadership, deal with competing priorities, and still be responsible for keeping technology moving forward.

That experience shapes how I want Mr. IT & Associates to operate.

I don't want to be another consultant who shows up, gives you a report, sends an invoice, and disappears.

I want us to be an advocate for the organizations we serve.

That means being willing to sit at the table with leadership. Ask difficult questions. Challenge a vendor when something doesn't make sense. Help plan a technology budget. Look several years down the road. Identify risks before they become problems. And sometimes simply say, "You don't need to spend money on that."

Technology support should be the baseline.

Partnership is where the real value begins.

Our goal is to understand where your organization is today, where you're trying to go, and then help build a technology strategy that gets you there.

Not as another vendor.

As part of your team.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about what truly differentiates Mr. IT & Associates.

It isn't that we monitor computers.
It isn't that we answer help desk tickets.
It isn't that we install firewalls or manage Microsoft 365.
Those things matter, but they're expected.

What excites me is partnering with organizations.

Taking the time to understand where they are today, where they want to go tomorrow, and helping technology become an accelerator instead of an obstacle.

Every organization has different challenges.

Some are navigating cybersecurity.
Some are trying to understand AI.
Some are preparing for growth.
Others simply need technology that works reliably so their people can focus on serving customers.

Technology should never exist for technology's sake.

It should support your people.
Strengthen your operations.
Reduce risk.
Create clarity.
And help move your organization forward.

That's why I don't view our clients as customers.

I view them as partners.

The greatest compliment I can receive isn't that we fixed a computer.

It's when an organization trusts us enough to have a seat at the table when they're making important decisions about the future.

Many organizations think cybersecurity begins with antivirus software, firewalls, or email filtering.

It doesn't.

Cybersecurity begins with a framework.

At Mr. IT & Associates, our approach is built around the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF). That framework provides the foundation for how we help organizations identify risk, protect critical systems, detect threats, respond effectively, and recover when incidents occur.

Technology is only one piece of the equation.

A mature cybersecurity program is supported by well-defined policies and procedures, reinforced through ongoing employee training, and measured through meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs). Those KPIs help leadership understand whether cybersecurity initiatives are actually reducing risk and achieving the organization's objectives.

Several years ago, I developed an enterprise cybersecurity governance framework based on the NIST CSF that brought all of these elements together into a single, repeatable model. The objective wasn't simply to deploy security tools, it was to create a governance structure where technology, people, processes, and organizational accountability worked together to strengthen cybersecurity and support evolving business and insurance expectations.

That's the difference between managing technology and leading cybersecurity.

One of the biggest AI risks isn't the technology itself.

It's the assumption that someone else will absorb the consequences when things go wrong.

Today, many organizations are moving quickly to adopt AI without fully considering governance, data privacy, decision accountability, vendor risk, or how these systems will be monitored over time.

As AI becomes more deeply integrated into business operations, I believe insurers, regulators, and auditors will begin asking tougher questions.

* Do you have an AI governance program?

* Who is accountable for AI-enabled decisions?

* How are you protecting sensitive data?

* What safeguards are in place to reduce risk?

* Can you demonstrate responsible oversight?

These aren't just technology questions. They're business, legal, and risk management questions.

Organizations that treat AI governance as optional may eventually find that it affects cyber insurance, professional liability coverage, regulatory scrutiny, or the cost of doing business.

The organizations that prepare now won't just reduce risk, they'll build greater trust with customers, partners, insurers, and employees.

AI is moving fast.

It's been an exciting season.

Over the past several weeks, I've had the opportunity to meet with new organizations, discuss technology strategy, explore AI and cybersecurity initiatives, work on software development projects, and continue building relationships with people who are passionate about what they do.

One thing I've learned is that technology is always evolving. Staying current isn't optional, it's part of serving people well. That means continuously learning, studying emerging technologies, understanding how AI is changing the way organizations operate, and finding practical ways to help businesses become more secure, efficient, and effective.

I'm incredibly grateful for every conversation, every client, and every opportunity to help an organization move forward.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted Mr. IT & Associates. The support has been humbling, and I'm excited to see where this journey leads.
