We keep telling people DO NOT use Flash Drives for long term storage/archives/important data. Flash drives should only be used for temporary storage or copying files from one device to another. Flash drives can suffer from 'bit rot' and lose data in as little as 1 to 2 years. I recommend using archival DVD's or mechanical hard drives for very long term storage, in a safety deposit box.
