Twenty years ago this month, our company was re-imagined and moved from Burbank, California to South Beloit, Illinois. We chose South Beloit because of it’s proximity to Colleges with Electrical Engineering programs , and Technical Schools with Electronics Technician programs. The biggest reason we came here was the quality of the workforce as a result of those schools, and the embedded manufacturing base that was already here.

We were lucky to have 15% of our full time employees move cross country with us. Many of them had never touched snow!

The results of that move are clear. We’ve developed an electronic control brand with world class quality and best-in-class service. Twenty years later, we have the strongest collective group of expertise and know-how in our market.

Pictured below are the employees who were here with us in 2003, and are still with us today. We’re proud of our people beyond words, and recognize EACH of them!

American Control Electronics is excited to announce the acquisition of AllMotion, a servo & stepper control manufacturer, based in Union City, California.

“The addition of AllMotion is a strong strategic addition to ACE’s control technology bandwidth, bringing Servo, Stepper, and complex motion capability to our growing product suite. Alongside our existing AC, DC, and EC control products, we’re very pleased to offer this expanded capability…” said ACE President Dan Schnabel

We’re very humbled, and extremely proud, to receive a 2020 Supplier Excellence Award from Hunter Engineering Company – a world-wide leading producer of vehicular service equipment. In 2020, ACE provided Hunter with “outstanding service and delivery throughout the year”, and also had a “rejection rate of 0.00%”.

Our relationship with Hunter has been built over many years, driven by the design and delivery of application-specific control solutions, and by taking an active, direct, & collaborative role with Hunter’s Engineering & Supply Chain communities.

As part of the Trident Motion Systems group, we have design teams in South Beloit, IL, Waltham, MA, Nashville, TN, and Pacific, MO. We provide integrated product sets including custom motors, motor controls, user interfaces, and mechatronic assemblies.

In 2002, we moved here from Burbank, California as a single location electronics manufacturing business. 20% of our entire work force moved here with us. Half of them had never touched snow. We took care of that.

Fast forward to 2021. We’ve become part of something much bigger. Our company has facilities in Asia, near St. Louis, and Boston, and Nashville. Both our supply chain and customer base is world wide.

Obviously, we’re growing. And, we need help! We’re looking for a high energy, people-oriented and computer proficient OFFICE ASSISTANT in our South Beloit Facility. For this new position, which could be part OR full time, we seek a ‘profile’ more than an educational background.

We need someone who’s not just willing, but wants to work with PEOPLE…whether they be suppliers, or customers, or fellow employees, worldwide. High level interpersonal skills are a MUST for this position, as continuous interaction with people is required. The successful candidate will be surrounded with other experienced employees well versed in purchasing, customer Service, Accounting, and HR admin who will help you see what career & skill development path is most attractive to you.

Many of these applications require mechanisms that keep the drawer closed when pushed in, or provide a natural push on the drawer if someone begins to pull.

While this can be achieved mechanically on a small scale, industrial storage bins may contain hundreds of pounds worth of material.American Control Electronics developed a solution that ran a small 24 VDC motor to open and close the drawer in conjunction with two limit switches, one to signal when the drawer was fully opened and another when the drawer was fully closed.

This solution is literally saving people's backs!

LK Industries specializes in petroleum testing equipment. Our controls are used with vehicular mounted oil testing centrifuges that separate water and sediment from oil. The centrifuge requires specific pre-heat & spin cycles…determined by the operator. Previously, the speed & heat level of the centrifuge could only be adjusted by the operator with machine mounted controls.

In addition, all test results had to be manually recorded by the user by visually inspecting the finished sample. With the help of American Control Electronics, a custom built version of a DCR300-30 with Bluetooth capability was integrated into the centrifuge.

CVC Technologies is a multi-national designer & manufacturer of industrial labeling equipment with an engineering facility based in Southern California. CVC presented us with a project involving the design of a custom DC motor drive with a specific goal in mind.

An LED with blink codes was added to provide diagnostic information to display motor running, motor short, motor overcurrent, and line voltage. In addition, we also designed a circuit that would better protect the drive by causing it to suspend the output when a short across the motor occured.
