We are still out here working away, and unfortunately it is going to be a long evening, and we are not going home until it’s fixed and I will be here posting updates. Our updated ETR is tonight/later this evening, but the time is open as we are still on site working as fast as we can on repairs. This has been the worse outage in SecureNet history, so we are not taking it lightly and appreciate the patience everyone has had so far, and will keep everyone updated as we go. I will be sending a mass update out soon.

Repair Update - 1:30 PM

Crews have been on site since early this morning working on repairs. This ended up being more extensive damage than initially assessed. New ETA is 6 PM tonight.

We know we said 1 PM and we missed it. We'll keep posting updates as work progresses, and we are sending out a mass communication update.

Update on South Charleston outage:
8/11 6:43pm

We found the problem. Rising river debris (likely a tree or log) caught our fiber line at a river crossing and damaged it. This isn’t a buried line that failed. River crossings are always a challenge in the industry, and this was a rare and peculiar thing to have happened.

Affected areas: Parkland / Thomas Memorial/ Spring Hill / Rock Lake area, Southmoor, Golf Course, and Kenna Homes. Edit: Rock Lake and the Spring Hill area includes Ohio/Kentucky/Tennessee Streets, etc

There is currently more ongoing severe weather. Our crew will be on site at 7:30 AM to start repairs. We expect everything back up by 1 PM at the latest. We’ll post updates tomorrow as work progresses.

We know this is not ideal, and please know that every one of you counts, and we are working as hard as we can to get everyone back up, as quickly as we can go. We will keep everyone updated.
