"During the remainder of this year, "agent-in-the-wild" simulations, which test an organization's ability to identify not only what an agent was instructed to do but also what it chooses to do next, are expected to become routine red-team exercise" (Quote from Forbes)

In a red team/blue team exercise, the red team is made up of offensive security experts who try to attack an organization's cybersecurity defenses. The blue team defends against and responds to the red team attack.

Modeled after military training exercises, this drill is a face-off between two teams of highly trained cybersecurity professionals: a red team that uses real-world adversary tradecraft in an attempt to compromise the environment, and a blue team that consists of incident responders who work within the security unit to identify, assess and respond to the intrusion.

Mikko Hyppönen has watched every major shift in security for three decades. He says this one is different.

Attackers now use AI to find and weaponize vulnerabilities in hours, not weeks. Mean time from disclosure to exploitation dropped from 21.5 days to 10 hours in one year. Patching faster stopped being an answer.

Experts are saying that only a few, ultra-advanced cybersecurity companies have the capability of staying abreast of threats.

Mikko Hyppönen - born 13 October 1969), is a Finnish computer security expert, speaker and author.

70,000+ users hit: Chrome extensions hijacked to drain crypto wallets.

Fans of Bitcoin, a crypto currency swear that, due to its blockchain technology, it can never be "hacked".

AI cannot directly break Bitcoin’s cryptography today, but it can enable other attacks — such as phishing, wallet compromise, or exploiting software/firmware bugs — and quantum computing is a longer‑term risk.

There are many different types of cyber-threats. And it's good for people to have a general understanding of what they are. Some are wildly known, others, not so much.

Viruses
Malware
Ransomware
Adware
Spyware
Emotets
Phishing
Smishing
Data Breaching
Trojans
Keylogging
DDos attacks
Spoofing
Cryptojacking
Catfishing
Social Engineering
Pharming
Deepfaking
Trickbots

For those who desire a more complete understanding of the basics of cybersecurity, a good place to start is shown below.

Of course, cyber-protection is never a good DIY endeavor. Hire an expert and sleep well.

Cyber-Villains are stepping up their game.

And some American cybersecurity companies are leading the defensive charge.

R3Doubt is dedicated to protecting organizations with constant vigilance and evolving defensive weaponry.

Stay informed.

Get protected.

The ATF is investigating a cybersecurity incident designated a "major incident" by Justice Department officials as Qilin ransomware claims credit.

More than 100 major technology companies, including Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic, have jointly signed an urgent letter demanding enhanced cybersecurity defenses against AI-driven threats.

Industry leaders caution that AI-enhanced cyberattacks will escalate in both frequency and complexity in the coming months.

OpenAI’s AI agents conducted what experts label as the first documented AI-powered cyberattack against Hugging Face.

Essential services such as healthcare facilities, water treatment systems, and banking networks face significant exposure to these emerging threats.

Anthropic developed the Mythos AI security tool that uncovered a nearly three-decade-old vulnerability within seconds, though access has been limited due to potential risks.

Question: Who was this open letter addressed to and who do they expect to provide the upgraded protection?

Varonis Threat Labs asked Microsoft Copilot to prove an exploit was impossible.

It did the opposite, guiding researchers through the exact steps to pull it off, including a hidden parameter enabling one-click data theft from Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.

Increasingly, the relative value of a cybersecurity company can be found in its ability to, at the minimum, meet compliance requirements, and execute incident response quickly.

Full spectrum protection constantly adapting.
