I designed this logo 12 years ago, back when Peconic Gold was just starting out and I was trying to get my footing as a designer. Watching it live a long and solid life on bags, shirts, signs, and trucks proves how timeless good branding can be.

Your logo is just a piece of the puzzle. It’s the face of your brand, and what people recognize.

But keeping a cohesive look throughout all of your visuals can help people know it’s part of the “family”.

Improving your visual identity will help boost recognition and awareness. You will look professional - which builds trust! It gives clarity to who you are, and should give you the confidence to always put your best foot forward.

From printed pieces, the way your social media grid looks, to swag and advertisements. These are all parts of the whole when it comes to strong branding.

Anyone remember when by was playing nonstop on the radio? That’s about the time I created this, and printing with spot colors was still a thing. Shades of 307 was used for this entire piece. Crazy how design and printing has changed so drastically in the last decade. I loved this piece for the (am I old?)

I recently came across this in my archives and remember how proud I was of it. I was just a few years into my career as a designer, and as a lover of local nature and building graphic charts - this was so much fun.

Designing the North Fork Little League Softball logo was just as important as baseball—these girls are just as strong, competitive, and deserving of a bold identity. At first, I worried about it feeling too “girly,” but after a visit to the American Girl store in NYC with my daughter last weekend, I realized that feminine color palettes are nothing to steer clear of. I chose coastal colors of blue-greens and pinks that feel fresh, fun, and timeless.

I also wanted to tie in the North Fork’s coastal vibe, which is why the baseball stitching forms the shape of a wave—blending our love for the game with the place we call home. ⚾🌊💙

Let’s go girls!!

Designing a logo for North Fork Little League felt like a big responsibility—one that carries the heart of a small-town community and an organization my parents signed me up to play* for back in the early ‘90s! Inspired by my love for The Sandlot and my grandfather’s old Brooklyn Dodgers T-shirts, I wanted this to feel nostalgic, youthful, and, most of all, fun for the kids to wear.

NFLL needed two—one for baseball and one for softball—because each deserved its own identity while staying part of the same family. I thought they both deserved their own post.
