Here’s an outdated small business website tip: Your contact form should capture as many leads as possible.

Nope!

Hear me out.

I think this idea comes from a ‘sales’ mentality. If you can just get someone’s contact information, then you can close the deal with your charm and persistence.

But…is every inquiry actually a good fit for you to work with? Probably not.

You don’t need more form submissions. You need a system to filter actual leads to your inbox, and automatically answer any other inquiries while you do whatever it is you really need to (sleep, work, get outside, etc)

We’ve been using to do this for years in our own business and client websites we design. Typeform is an online form tool that makes forms worth filling out: think interactive, branded, and visually simple with the ability to add relevant follow up questions, form endings, and automated confirmation emails.

The form we recently built for the website has 16 potential endings. Only 6 end with capturing contact info and sending a notification to the attorneys. Those 6 also send custom automated replies to the user who receives links to helpful articles and info on their website to prepare for their consultation.

The other 10 endings confirm their office is unable to help their specific circumstance and thanks them for their inquiry.

How much time are you spending following up with inquiries that don’t turn into actual client relationships? Could a few hours of setup save you 100 phone calls in 2026?

Let us know when you’re ready to upgrade your website contact form 👍🏻

Shirt designs for a volunteer appreciation event at last night.

Staff wore these shirts as they passed out island juice drinks and served dinner at the tiki torch lit Summit Beach Club 🏝️ which meant we also got to design:

- beachy event graphics for slides and email newsletter
- vinyl banners to mark the drink and food stations
- kids menu including a coloring page and activities

Volunteers were gifted these shirts as a thank you for their hard work and commitment to the church community. We love helping make events like this a special and memorable experience!

Your fonts say more than the words typed.

The size, placement, weight, line spacing, letter spacing, angles, curves, color… it all tells a story.

These typographic Bible verse posters we designed for are legit wall art thanks to their brand fonts.

The way the big bold sans serif contrasts with the more delicate serif and script guides the eye for a slow, studying read.

Tips for new business websites ⚡️

✔️ Reserve your domain, social handles and setup your domain-matching email address first (like [email protected]) - they should all match.

✔️ Go live in phases. Start with a landing page that introduces your brand, teases what’s coming, and add more content as you continue to grow.

✔️ If you’re opening a physical location, schedule a photo shoot when you’re a little more settled in. Capture your signage, team in branded apparel, in your real space. We want what users see online to be consistent in real life.

✔️ Have a website strategy. When you plan for how the site will be used a year from now when everything is fully operational, you can roll things out strategically to make sure users never have a disappointing experience on your site. Always be one step ahead!

✔️ Plan to evolve. Don’t set it and forget it. Plan to review your site monthly, run security updates, and check for anything out of date. Plan to refresh your site every couple of months with a new photo, announcement, or whatever makes sense for your brand. Fresh content keeps users interested.

Website design for now live ⚡️

We’ve got a photo shoot scheduled in a few weeks to capture Erin in action outdoors and with a patient in her clinic space. But for now, some quality stock images serve as a placeholder!

Logo variations 👏🏻

A typical brand kit should come with a handful of logo variations, including:

1. A primary logo: what you should be using most of the time

2. An icon: something abbreviated from the full logo that is simpler, smaller, and can be used as a recognizable mark

3. With or without a subtitle: in this case, there are versions with “church” and without. Use depends on the size at which the logo will be displayed.

4. Type only: the words with no graphics. Typically this gets used when the primary logo is visible nearby but in a situation where readability is necessary.

5. In other brand colors: mainly for apparel, as it’s common for a color to work great in print and on screen, but it’s not something people want on their body 🙃

Which is your fave for .church ?

The faces our designers make when we see our work in the wild ☺️

The rest of the time, the internal struggles as graphic designers are real:

Amy (left): has FOMO because she can’t attend every event she brands, wants to immediately become a customer of our clients, and doesn’t have shelf space for all the beautiful printed materials she designs

Reanne (middle): a master client secret keeper, always dying to show people the massively exciting things we’re working on but has to wait until it’s launched publicly …and by then she’s already deep into the next project

Sophie (right): tries not to say hi to everyone wearing apparel we’ve designed (because it gets awkward??) and wishes people cared as much about website projects as branding projects when we share on social media

If you’re a designer, what’s a struggle you’ve had lately??

Can you name a great brand without all 3?

A lot of people come to us looking for just a logo and honestly it’s really hard to produce one image that can encompass everything you’re about.

It’s the stuff surrounding the logo that tells your full story.

Now LIVE at nsplit.com ⚡️

This is our first ever relaunch for a client whose previous site we designed almost 10 years ago.

They had outgrown their old system of updating the site manually and were ready for an automated way to get the latest race info on their home page at all times (without having to login on race night and remove outdated info!) and promote their race planning services more actively.

With some help from Bo (everyone’s favorite developer) we were able to give them an upgrade with:

✔️ featured races pulling data constantly from their Airtable account so nothing outdated continues to show
✔️ a “need chip timing?” slide out pop up to speak to race planners seeking chip timing services
✔️ mega menus that expand their site navigation with images and links when hovered over
✔️ race landing pages for 18 of their biggest races highlighting all the details in a highly visual way including registration links, sponsors, and beneficiaries
✔️ a new Get Involved page with all the ways runners can connect with their local fitness community
✔️ an announcement banner that promotes their most time sensitive info
✔️ embedded Instagram feed and Airtable lead forms to integrate with what they’re already using
✔️ a website editor training and cheat sheet so they can update the site on their own (and they’ve already changed quite a bit!)

The best websites are always evolving to keep up with their users needs and make the best of the tools available today.

If you’re ready to head into 2026 with an upgraded online presence, check out our website package pricing on our site!
