We’ve always held a firm stance that cross connects should be free. But beyond just being a perk, let’s explore why this industry norm is so hard to justify.

The physical fiber optic cable for a cross connect costs roughly $50. Along with a one-time installation, that cable is all that is needed to maintain a high-speed link for years. There is no ongoing maintenance or recurring cost for the data center to keep that cable plugged in.

Yet, most data centers treat that cable as a high-margin subscription service. They charge monthly fees and often increase those fees annually.

When you look at a standard setup of 2-3 cross connects, the cost of "renting" those cables adds up fast.

With fees typically between $300–$600/month per cross connect, you’re looking at up to $1,800 every month - that’s over $20,000 per year.

Whereas we have 0 ongoing monthly charges for any cross connect.

Over a 3-year contract, that is over $60,000 back in your budget for 3 cross connects. We believe that money is better spent on your hardware, your team, or your R&D - not on "connection rent."

We don't just do this to be different, we do it to remove the barriers to your growth.

So you can setup a cross connect without having to go through a purchase process, get it done faster and make your infrastructure more reliable without the increased overhead.

Stop paying rent on a cable.

Results speak louder than words. We don’t just provide space & power; we provide a partnership.

Here's a playlist of video case studies, where our clients share their experience with us.

Some of the key highlights;

1. Our clients use our team for everything from cabling to hard drive swaps - this saves significant time

2. When there’s an issue, our clients can call up and we'll fix it

3. From diverse power feeds to flood-ready facilities, we ensure your IT stays online even when the unexpected happens.

4. With no charges for cross-connects and included support, we help you keep your costs predictable.

As you can see, construction on HOU2 is moving fast!

The foundation slabs are set, major footers are in, and the initial building pad is solidified.

Each concrete pour brings us one step closer to bringing significant, resilient capacity to the Houston market. We are moving fast, and the next few weeks will see the structure begin to rise rapidly.

A huge thank you to everyone on the ground working on this project.

It wasn’t long ago that we broke ground at HOU2 - and the Phase 1 slab is already complete.

This milestone is a clear reflection of how quickly the project is moving and the strong coordination across teams on site. We pride ourselves on maintaining momentum without compromising on quality or safety.

With the foundation now in place, we’re moving swiftly into the next phase.

We move quickly - and this is just the beginning.

Check out this before and after moving to our data center with Colo+

Messy, overcrowded racks don’t just look bad - they make maintenance harder, slow down response times, and significantly increase the risk of human error.

📸 Before: tangled cabling, difficult access, higher operational risk

📸 After: clean, structured racks with clear cable management - faster maintenance, fewer errors, better uptime

A tidy setup isn’t cosmetic. It’s operational resilience.

A great milestone for HOU2

Last week we successfully set the transformer and generators on site. The generators will be housed indoors for improved reliability, following the same proven approach used at HOU1.

Great progress from all teams involved as the project continues to move forward safely and efficiently.

As a strong Arctic cold front approaches the Houston area this weekend - with forecasts of freezing temperatures, ice, and potentially hazardous conditions - it’s a good moment to remind everyone why strong infrastructure resilience matters now more than ever.

We’ve built our operations around reliability and preparation for extreme conditions. That commitment was put to the test during Winter Storm Uri in 2021, when much of Texas faced widespread power emergencies. During that storm we:

- Activated full disaster-response protocols, with on-site teams ready through the storm.
- Ran on backup generators for days, keeping our facilities online even while much of the grid was stressed.-
- Maintained 100% uptime for our customers throughout, ensuring that critical infrastructure like healthcare, supply chains, and essential services stayed connected.

Our facilities are purpose-built for this kind of resilience, with redundant systems and fault-tolerant designs that help ensure continuity, even in severe weather.

👉 For our customers and partners: as temperatures drop this weekend, rest assured that our infrastructure is ready and proven to stand strong, no matter what the weather brings.

Stay safe, Houston
