We are thrilled to announce that Springfield has officially been designated a Tennessee Main Street Community by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development! 🎉🏛️
Springfield is proud to become a Tennessee Main Street community, joining a statewide network dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and revitalizing Tennessee's historic downtowns.
So, what does this mean for Springfield?
The Tennessee Main Street Program, modeled after the National Main Street Center, provides communities with the tools and resources to strengthen the heart of downtown through the nationally recognized Four-Point Approach®:
✨ Design – Preserving and enhancing the historic character of downtown
✨ Economic Vitality – Supporting existing businesses while encouraging new investment and entrepreneurship
✨ Promotion – Showcasing Downtown Springfield as a vibrant destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, and community events
✨ Organization – Building strong partnerships and cultivating local leadership
This designation is an exciting milestone for our community and reflects the dedication of our downtown businesses, property owners, city leaders, volunteers, and residents who believe in the future of Downtown Springfield.
As Springfield Main Street begins this new chapter, we'll have access to valuable training, technical assistance, networking opportunities, and resources that will help us preserve our historic downtown while fostering economic growth for years to come.
