Switch to Standby Mode for Unlimited Low-Speed Data
Starlink has opened the Pause feature for Residential customers. Now, you can Pause and stay connected with Standby Mode. For just $5 per month, you’ll have unlimited low-speed data, perfect for calls, texts, and instant reactivation during emergencies, in dead zones, or at vacation homes. You'll also continue to receive software updates to keep your system up-to-date.

To opt-in, tap Confirm Standby Mode and follow the steps below.
Confirm Standby Mode
Log into your account on Starlink.com
Select "Your Subscription" from the "Home" tab, then "Manage" next to your Service Plan
Select "Manage" in the "Service Plan" box, then click "Activate Plan"
Select "Standby", then click "Continue"

Not sure if my outage is my house or wider. Been out for 2-3 hours. Modem and wireless is fine, just no internet. So I'm going to reboot the entire system and I'll report back.

We have heard of, not personally, of severe drops in up and download speeds. Frequent spooling issues come and go. Musk now claims StarLink may be able to provide amazing service without 32,000 satellites.

Musk is also hiring positions to start up the phone services through StarLink satellites in partnership with T-Mobile. Should be able to act as a last resort for dead spots as well as a viable phone carrier.

Big outage today. Ours dropped about 7:50pm today and has been down for 20 minutes. Been having long disruptions through the day, then UNABLE TO LOAD message for 20+ minutes.

Portability enables customers to temporarily move their Starlink to new locations and receive high-speed internet anywhere where Starlink provides active coverage within the same continent. You can enable Portability for $25/month on your account page. Once enabled, Portability will take effect immediately, and you can disable Portability from your account page at any time.

So, today the image froze on our tv, it happened even with Comcast. I waited a bout 10-15 seconds and though it odd. I looked out at the antenna and it had moved from north to west northwest. Still no signal so I walked away to heat up my coffee and then heard the tv come back live. I looked out at the antenna and it had returned to North. Go figure???

A question came up about the wireless portion of StarLink.

Once you have the system installed, you will need to change the wireless connection on every device you have to what you named the new StarLink signal, and once you're ready to 'cut' your current provider, make sure you tap 'forget' for the old wireless name on each device. Don't forget ALL of the signals on your phones and tablets, as you may have other connection for when you travel. I.e. your friends, relatives, work, etc...

This last bit of snow melted off the antenna at it fell. Apparently, the heated included does it's job. Even the little freezing rain never stuck.
