STEM Camp Day 2 Continued...

The drone-awesomeness continued on day 2 of STEM Camp. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ For Mission 2: Fighting Fires, our pilots and aviators took a virtual trip to Los Angeles, California to fight a forest fire using dropped dragon eggs that created a controlled burn for the fire.

Adding to day 1's manuvers, they also learned how to flip Tello.

For Mission 3: Mount Erebus, they traveled virtually to Mount Erebus (a volcano in Antatrica) to use Tello's thermal cameria to find and map fumaroles (cracks in the Earth's crust that eject steam) which helps scientists in their studies.⭐️

Lastlly, we even had a visit from the awesome crew at Queen Anne's County Television - QACTV!

STEM Camp Day One 1 Continued...

STEM Camp Day One 1 was drone-tastic! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our junior pilots and aviators were introduced to Tello The Drone and completed their 1st Mission: Flight Training.

They learned how to navigate Tello using four fundamental movements (Throttle, Pitch, Roll, and Yaw) and took turns operating in one of three roles; Safety, Observer, or Pilot.

During their mission they took a virtual trip to Puerto Rico and used their drones to assist with the search, rescue, cleanup, and disaster recovery for a hurricane.

We can't wait to see what drone-awesomeness day two will hold!
