Okay, okay… I know I already said goodnight. 😂 But LOOK! 🫐
The freeze dryer finally finished those blueberries, and they were absolutely worth the wait! We ended up with two half-gallon jars of crunchy, sweet little blueberry goodness—and let me tell you, these things are better than candy. 😍
They’re tucked away with oxygen absorbers and vacuum-sealed for the pantry… although judging by how good they are, I'm not sure “long-term storage” is going to happen. 😂
And of course, Hazel & Henry have assumed security detail. 🪿🫐🪿 Apparently the Hollow & Hearth blueberry stash is now under very serious protection.
I'm already dreaming about using these in breads, buttercream and all kinds of goodies from the Hearth.
Okay. NOW I'm really saying goodnight. 🤣🌙🤎

🌙 Goodnight from the Hearth
Well friends… I had plans to spend today at my sewing machine. 🧵
The potatoes had other plans. 😂🥔
What started as “I'll just put up a few potatoes real quick” somehow turned into 19 pints and 2 quarts canned, plus a batch of homemade fries prepped for the freezer.
There were pancakes and waffles this morning, tacos around the table tonight, dishes washed somewhere in between, kids needing Mama, Nerf guns requiring assistance 😂… and FINALLY, I made it to my sewing machine long enough to get a mug rug nearly finished.
And you know what?
That's homestead life. 🤎 The plans change. The kitchen gets messy. Somebody always needs something. And sometimes preserving food for your family comes before the thing you really wanted to do.
I'm tired tonight—but it's the good kind of tired that comes from looking around and knowing a whole lot got accomplished.
Now these babies are headed to bed, Mama is deciding whether she's got enough juice left for a few more stitches… and if not?
Tomorrow is MY sewing day, dang it. 😂🧵

I said I was going to sew today.

Ten pounds down, the first round of jars is in the pressure canner, and I'm cutting just enough for another few jars before I call it quits.
This is homestead life—sometimes the day's plans change because the harvest has plans of its own. 🤎
But don't worry… I'm still determined to make it to that sewing machine today! 🧵😂

Saturday mornings at the Hearth. 🤎
Pancakes flipping, waffles covered in entirely too-good syrup, sausage on the side… and now that everybody's fed, Mama finally gets her coffee. ☕😂
No big plans just yet. We're gonna sip the coffee and see where this Saturday takes us.

🌙 Goodnight from the Hearth
Some days go exactly as planned… and then there are days like today. 😂
There were beets everywhere, blueberries that decided 80 hours in the freeze dryer still wasn’t enough, laundry going, and my sewing plans getting rearranged about seventeen times. But somewhere in the middle of all that homestead chaos, things still got done. ❤️
Tonight I’m ending the day with finished sunflower coaster sets ready for the craft shows, plus bowl cozies and mug rugs cut and waiting for tomorrow. 🧵🌻
The kids are tucked into bed, the sewing machine is officially off duty, and now it’s my turn to sit down and enjoy a little quiet.
Tomorrow, we sew or maybe farmers market again then sew! Lol 😉
