If you get a text that mentions the outbreak and urges you to click a link, share personal information, or panic-buy something, slow down and verify it through the CDC or your local health department first. A real alert should inform you, not pressure you.

However, there's one excuse teachers aren't going to buy from students who are using our internet service — an internet outage — because our fast internet provides 99.9% reliability. The dog might eat it. Our internet won’t drop it.
