One of my favorite parts of this business has always been the design side of it.

I never really know what someone is going to walk through the door wanting to create.

Sometimes a customer comes in with a vision already in their head. They know what they want it to feel like, the direction they want to go, and it’s my job to take that idea and figure out how to make it work.

Other times I get, “Here’s what I like… you take it from here.”

I honestly enjoy both.

There’s something about starting with an idea — whether it’s mine, the customer’s, or a little bit of both — and watching it turn into something completely unique to them.

That’s the part that keeps this business interesting for me.

No two customers are the same, so why should everything we create look the same?

And I’ve got a few new design projects coming up that I’m pretty excited about.

One of the best compliments in this business is trust.

I have a great working relationship with another local graphics shop, and I regularly lend a hand with installations when needed.

We’re two separate businesses in the same industry, but over time we’ve developed a partnership that works really well.

I’ve never believed that being in the same line of work means you always have to work against each other. Sometimes you compete, sometimes you collaborate, and sometimes you recognize that working together simply makes sense.

I’m proud when a customer trusts Creative Disorder with their project.

But there’s also something pretty rewarding about another professional in your own industry trusting you with work that represents their business and their customer.

That kind of trust is earned, and I don’t take it lightly.

There’s plenty of room for good people to do good work — and sometimes, do it together.

Before they ever taste the food, they’ve already seen the truck.

Food trucks and concession trailers have one huge marketing advantage most businesses don’t have:

The entire business is a billboard.

A great-looking trailer can catch someone’s attention across an event, help people remember your name, and make your business look established before they’ve ever placed an order.

And it doesn’t always require wrapping every square inch.

A full wrap, partial wrap, bold graphics, menu panels or strategically placed lettering can completely change the presence of a food truck or trailer.

If you’re getting ready for festivals, fairs, football games and fall events, now’s a pretty good time to look at what your trailer is saying about your business.

Good food gets them to come back. Good graphics can help get them to walk over the first time.

Now THAT’S a transformation.

Earlier this week I gave you a little preview of a project we were getting ready to tackle for Zack’s Remodeling Solutions.

Today, here’s the finished result.

The goal wasn’t to wrap every inch of the truck. It was to use the right combination of design, placement and graphics to give their existing work vehicle a completely new presence—and turn it into advertising every time it hits the road.

That’s one of the things I love about partial wraps.

You don’t always need a full wrap to make a big difference.

Thursday Design Thoughts

There’s a big difference between putting a graphic on something and actually creating a look that belongs to you.

These days, it’s easy to grab an AI-generated image, download a piece of clip art, slap a name on it and call it done.

And sometimes, that’s perfectly fine.

But if you’re building a business, a brand, or even a custom vehicle that’s supposed to reflect your personality, I think it should feel like yours.

Not something that looks like the same graphic you’ve already seen on ten other shirts, trucks or logos.

At Creative Disorder, I’d rather start with your idea, your business, your style, your personality—and build from there.

Maybe AI helps us brainstorm.

Maybe there’s inspiration from something you’ve seen.

Maybe you come in with nothing more than, “I want something different.”

That’s where the real design work begins.

The goal isn’t just to make something that looks good.

It’s to create something that people can look at and say:
