Join Azul’s Luqman Saeed for a structured look at where WebLogic breaks under AI workloads. You’ll find out:

- The five WebLogic bottlenecks that block AI adoption

- Why virtual threads (Java 21) change the economics of AI service calls—and why WebLogic 14c doesn't get them

- The MicroProfile patterns AI architectures rely on that WebLogic doesn't ship

- The financial case: WebLogic renewal cost vs. AI infrastructure budget

Next week, we'll be at AWS Summit Toronto and we'd love to connect onsite!

Find us at Booth #130 on June 3rd at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building). We'll be talking about how enterprises are reducing Java infrastructure costs and eliminating performance bottlenecks on AWS—without rewriting a single line of code.

If optimizing your Java environment is on your roadmap, this is a conversation worth having. https://bit.ly/4f0e6i3

Java isn't being replaced by AI. It's being validated by it.

Deputy CTO & Java Champion Simon Ritter breaks this down in his article, "Born ready: why Java is vital to establish AI in the enterprise"

A key insight: Java users are actually more likely to code AI in Java (62%) than Python (45%). Performance, reliability, and scale at the enterprise level demand it.

Your JVM starts slow. Your Kubernetes pod shouldn't pay for it forever.

One of the most overlooked inefficiencies in Java on Kubernetes is the mismatch between warm-up CPU needs and steady-state CPU needs — and treating them as the same.

Here's what actually happens:
When a JVM starts, the JIT compiler is actively profiling and optimizing your code. That process burns extra CPU. Once it reaches steady state, that same CPU is largely wasted — you're paying for capacity you no longer need.

The classic fix: Overprovision.

But that's expensive, and it doesn't solve the real problem: cold replicas serving live traffic with unoptimized code and unpredictable latency.

We published a deep dive on how to solve this properly, combining two technologies:
Azul Prime (Zing JVM) which exposes JIT compilation progress in real time + Kedify PodResourceProfiles.

The result:
→ Faster warm-up (more CPU available when it matters)
→ More stable early latency (JIT isn't competing with traffic)
→ Lower steady-state cost (resources released automatically)
→ Clean separation between vertical scaling (right-sizing per phase) and horizontal scaling (right number of replicas)

We published our High-Performance Java Platform Benchmark Report — and the performance gains from upgrading are bigger than you might think.

Teams still running older versions of Java are leaving a lot of speed on the table. Moving to Java 25 alone is 16.4% faster than Java 11. Switch to Azul Prime and that jumps to 38.8%.

If your team has been putting off an upgrade, this might be the nudge you need.

Azul’s Java Performance Engineering Lab tested Azul Prime’s Zing versus other OpenJDK distributions on JDK 25. Learn what this means for your organization when you upgrade.

Most Java modernization efforts aren't failing because of tooling or talent. They're failing because of technical debt being carried forward, not removed.

Unused features, dead dependencies, abandoned feature flags—they accumulate silently. Up to 50% of a typical Java codebase may be completely unused. And when modernization just moves that weight to a new environment, you get slower CI/CD, riskier deployments, and engineers maintaining code that delivers zero value.

In this blog, we cover why you have more debt than you think, what it's costing you, and how to actually fix it — all insights from our white paper "Java Modernization without the Tech Debt."
