Have you ever experienced the Doorway Effect in your business?

You start with a radical, revolutionary mission, but by the time you're in the thick of it all, you’ve completely forgotten the point of it all.

It happens to the best of us. We start out bright-eyed, clutching a vision for the world so tightly that the wet ink leaves a silhouette on our palms.

Sounds a bit fresh and vulnerable, right?

But then, we get distracted by the hollow metrics of "success".

We stretch ourselves too thin, trying to measure up against industry giants who built their thrones on the very standards we wanted to defeat.

I say this with my whole chest, so trust me when I say:
Blazing your own trail is exhausting, and fighting that water will eventually wear you out.

But please, for the love of everything good in the world, do not forget that your ideas and your mission were never meant to sink— they are meant to float.

When the pressure of burnout hits, don't just keep fighting the current.

Take a moment to catch your breath, lean back, and remember your original 'why'. That 'why' is your flotation device— and it's the very thing the current system fears most.

Let's bring it back to the roots today. Drop your original 'Why' in the comments! Let's remind each other why we started.

🤔 You ever walk into a new room and forget why on earth you even went in there to begin with?

It happens to all of us, and as much as it usually ends with you forgetting that thirst quenching drink you had remembered was in your fridge when you first got up to grab it, it could be way worse.

I mean think about it. Just imagine doing it in your life’s work. That passion project you had dreamed up and brought to reality– that very thing that jolted you right up and out of the everyday normal that you so badly wanted to see changed– it isn’t immune to the Doorway Effect

It might not be the same as walking into your kitchen for a glass of water, only to forget, get distracted by the dishes, and then be standing at the fridge, door open, with a confused jar of mayo in your hand, but trust me when I say this–

🗣️You will forget why you started on the journey you’ve set out on to make changes in the industry you’re standing smack dab in the middle of.

That’s why it is important that you recognize what is pulling you away from your “why” and you remember how to get back to it.

I’m lucky to work across nearly all industries. It shows me how universal this feeling is, and how much we all need to remember why we do what we are called to do.

And don’t you worry. If you made it through this post, and somehow you forgot why you were interested in this in the first place, just wait until this month’s blog. We are chatting about that visceral feeling of being spread too thin, of forgetting your “why,” and how you can come back to it.

Curious where the heck I’ve been for the last two weeks? Well, I’ve been in the woods (big surprise, right? 😜)

I recently stepped into a new chapter and started training for Search and Rescue. It has been a massive reality check and a lot of physical, heavy work.

But somehow, it has me thinking about my work too– I mean, the irony of being a Search Engine Optimization Specialist and now on a local Search and Rescue crew was definitely not lost on me…

That thought though? It’s that realization that, as business owners, it is so easy to get entirely consumed by the screen, the metrics, and the algorithms.

We become our businesses, for better or for worse.

But stepping offline to do work that is raw, human, and rooted purely in community is the ultimate reset button.

I’m back and I’m gearing up for a very intentional May.

This month, my head is feels a bit more clear. And I want that for you, too.

So here is your nudge, with love:
Get offline this weekend.
Go do something real.
Get your head clear.

You can argue with the method, but you just cannot argue with the math.

If you still think a blog is just a digital diary for company updates, you are actively leaving money on the table.

Facts are facts, and these numbers are undeniable:

--> 434% more indexed pages for the Crawler Bots to find.

--> 97% more inbound links moving users into your site.

--> 67% more inbound leads every single month.

A structural blog isn't about going viral. It is an active beacon built to catch your ideal clients while they are still searching for a solution.

Wanna see how this exact architecture works in the real world? Just check out the email I received from one of my clients at the end.

Stop letting your website sit inactive. Get your site moving through the search ranks, and start getting found– not just seen.

Yes, it’s only April. And yes, my Q3 calendar (July - September) is officially open.

In this industry, there are a lot of people who will promise a rush job. I won't.

If you want a digital footprint that actually survives the elements and ranks consistently, you need a guide, and you need a map.

I am currently locking in my Q3 calendar for:
-> Custom Web Design: Building a lasting base camp.
-> SEO & Site Optimization: Clearing the technical friction.
-> Strategic Copywriting & Editing: Cutting through the static.
-> Brand Kits & Identity: Defining your visual authority.

If you are looking for a rushed website template and an overnight, shady SEO fix, I am not your guide. You don't build a high-performing site the day after you buy the domain.

When you secure your spot for Q3 today, you aren't just sitting in a waiting room (we all know how exhausting a holding pattern can feel)

Here is how we actually prepare for the build:

⛺ May (Base Camp): We handle the discovery. We lock in the contracts, get completely aligned on your brand identity, and prep the structural strategy.

🗻 June (Scouting the Trail): I run the deep-dive technical audits. We look under the hood of your current site, find the SEO dead ends, and map out the exact digital architecture we are going to build.

🔝 July (The Ascent): We break ground on the actual design, development, and optimization.

I only take a select number of builds per quarter because I refuse to dilute my focus or guide a crowded trail.

If you are ready to carve a ranking strategy that stands the test of time, let’s get your name on the calendar.

Shoot me an email at [email protected] or drop a comment below, and let's start charting the route.

"I can get you on Page One of Google this week!"

If an SEO agency pitches you this line, pack up your gear and walk away.

I’ve been guiding businesses through this landscape for over five years, and I spend a lot of my time rescuing sites that trusted this exact promise.

That’s why I wanted to share the gritty truth about how these agencies pull off the "one-week wonder," and why it ultimately leaves you stranded.

Remember, Real SEO isn't a shortcut; it's the climb. It takes time, strategy, and human expertise to carve a path that guarantees you get found, not just seen for a second.
Don't let a slick sales pitch convince you to set up camp on a washout. Next time someone promises you the summit in seven days, ask them exactly how they plan to keep you there.

A client's words speak louder than any marketing strategy...

"I have been working with Atlas and ReMapped Solutions for over a year now, and I have definitely seen an uptick in traffic to my website and calls to my phone.

My experience working with Atlas has been comfortable & informative. I have found them to be very responsive, professional, and personable, a great combination of traits for me - someone largely unfamiliar with SEO and fully uninterested in doing the work myself.

I'm grateful to have connected with Atlas and look forward to continuing to work together in 2026. I highly recommend Atlas and ReMapped solutions to anyone looking to increase traffic to their website & grow their business!"

There is never just one piece to any long term SEO strategy that is THE Thing for how to get on Page One of Google Search Results.

There’s strategies for the front end, and the backend, and the technical, and the on-page, and…and…and…

And sometimes, throughout that huge optimization push, with all the added bells and whistles, you might just step back, look at your website, and think…

“That’s…not me”

I get it. I’ve seen it. With a site designed to scream, “BUY BUY BUY” it can feel like the soul of the business— your soul— is suddenly MIA.

A simple fix?
Start a blog on your site. Why your business NEEDS a blog is that it’ll bring the “you” of it all, front and center, in its own digital space. This is where you share who the f**k you are in the big picture of things.

A simple way to inject massively impactful long term SEO strategy?
Start a blog on your site. (See what I did there 😉)

Adding a blog to your site is not only beneficial to your users, readers, and clients-to-be, but it's also chock full of all the technical representative bits that the Google crawler bots are looking for. Feed those bots, and that climb to the top becomes a whole helluva lot more achievable.

Curious what I mean by all that? Check out this month’s blog on my website and you’ll see how the age of blogs was not left in the 90’s.

❌🙄 “Nobody reads blogs these days. Why would I need one for my website?”

Although this may not be the wonder years of blogspot, or the golden age of tumblr, there are still readers on your blog.

Ohh boy, and let me tell you, those readers? They are the ones that count— and the ones you may not suspect.

In this month’s blog (heh heh, see the irony there?🤭), we are talking all things blog writing as a vehicle for long term SEO strategy, with a healthy sprinkle of sawdust and Luddite genius.

We’ll be sharing some of our clients’ experiences— one with a blog we have been running for literal years, delivering measurable growth noted in the rise of calls, clients, and new commitments.

That, wrapped up in the showcase of a phenomenal handyman who is just starting on his blog journey with us, but who is already getting more and more familiar with his own ringtone.

My blog is dropping this Friday, but in the meantime, I’m curious—

❓Who has a blog on their website? And how is it doing for you? Does it bring in traffic? Does it generate leads or discovery calls?

5 years in business baby!

Okay well it’s really more like 7+, but I’ve been officially registered as the digital Swiss Army Knife I am for a full 5 years now.

Don’t get me wrong, this flying-high vibe definitely gives me all those good tingly feelings, but more like in the way that the sketchy roller coaster I boarded actually made it back without breaking down, leaving me upside down, hanging out to dry…so to speak.

It hasn’t been easy.
And it’s definitely been scary.
There are some days I wonder if I’ll keep going.

That’s when I sit back and I look at all the amazing people I’ve met. I take a peek at all the digital doorways I’ve built for them to prance their lovely selves right on through

…the feeling that comes after that?
Yeah, that’s what keeps me going.

Was I perfect right out the gate from day one?
Hell no.

Did I have clients that were in the same stages of FAFO’ing their way through the shaky bits?
Hell yea.

Did that come to a place where we saw each other and decided to ride it out like we were made to do?
You bet your ass it did.

The rough patches were hard and the learning was endless. Things are easier now, and I’m happy to be helping the folks I am.

5 years, 7 years— how ever many it is, I just thank the world around me that I made it through the gauntlet of a small business’ first five years.

AI is trained on the average of all human language. But when you average out lived experience, you erase the truth.

Large Language Models are designed to be universally inoffensive. But when you run culturally rooted, revolutionary missions through that filter, the machine completely sanitizes the historical weight, the demographic pain, and the specific reality of marginalized voices. It turns liberation into corporate elevator music.

Look at the brilliant, uncompromising language of Taproot Earth compared to the ChatGPT 'Default' translation.

I am using Taproot Earth here as the absolute gold standard of mission-driven, unapologetic copywriting. We cannot let algorithmic convenience erase the power of human truth.

I have been saying it and will say it again and again: You can use AI, but don’t let it muffle your mission. Do not let the machine write your soul out of your mission.

As my copywriter Jacob says,
“Your voice deserves to be heard, so don’t hide it behind a robot.”

Go follow Taproot Earth, read through their actual stories, and support their incredible work in global climate reparations. This is what real language looks like.
