Anyone who has ever asked an AI tool to help with a project and then spent ten minutes copying and pasting content from six different files knows exactly what problem this solves. 📂
Microsoft just introduced Copilot Agents in OneDrive, and it's one of the more practically useful AI features to come out in a while.
Here's how it works. You select up to 20 related files, a proposal, some meeting notes, a budget, a timeline, whatever makes up the project, and bundle them into a single saved agent. Instead of asking "summarize this document" one file at a time, you can ask questions across the whole thing at once.
What deadlines are coming up? Where are the risks? What did we actually agree in the last three meetings? The agent has context across all of it, not just whatever you remembered to paste in. 🤖
Even better, the agent saves as a file inside OneDrive, which means you can share it with your team. Everyone works from the same AI view of the project without having to rebuild the setup themselves. As the project evolves you add or remove documents and it stays current.
Right now it's available for Microsoft 365 Copilot license holders via OneDrive on the web. It's still evolving and Microsoft is actively collecting feedback, which usually means the good stuff is coming.
If you've ever wasted an afternoon hunting across folders trying to piece together where a project actually stands, this is worth paying attention to. ⚡
Would you trust an AI agent to work across your project files, or are you still a read-it-yourself person?
We would love to hear from you!
