WEATHER- Looks like we will be under a Flood Watch from Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. Currently looking at a line of weather inching that COULD bring us another storm system similar to what we saw the other day, just hold the tornadoes, heavy downpours are likely- we could see anywhere from 1-3ā€ locally.

At this time we remain in the SLIGHT risk category for severe weather Sunday, into Monday.

We will keep you posted. Hope my weather stuff helps y’all, I know a few of you know I’ve been into this stuff for a long time and I appreciate you coming back and your faith in me.

Along with the EF1 tornado that was on the SE side of Vigo County, now, just got a report that there was an EF3 that also occured over in the Effingham area, it was on the ground for about 27 miles.

This is only the beginning of our summertime, too. When they said ā€œthe Wabash Valley is now part of tornado alley,ā€ I would say that is a cold-hard-fact.

TERRE HAUTE, IN TOWN- Clip of a truck being pursued by Terre Haute City Police earlier this afternoon. The clip does have some strong language- turn your volume down if there are little ones around.

Had a weird idea earlier during this storm. Noticed one of the cameras i’ve been experimenting with ran off of 5V, just like a cell phone does when it charges.

Put one of the PTZ cameras in a jar, changed some settings, add in a 50000mAh power bank, set it outside… Surprisingly- it handled the abuse mother nature threw at us; the rain and wind that mother nature threw at it, like a champ. So, I’ll have to make one or two more!

(Come on, you can’t tell me rigging this up out of a big plastic peanut butter jar and Gorilla tape isn’t cool.)

Just as long as there’s a hotspot nearby, it can send video out to the internet, can adjust the camera while it’s in the jar. Even if there’s no internet, I can adjust the camera ad-hoc and have it record to an SD card and just let ā€˜er ride and record.

Had a little fun with this. Listened to the Skywarn net here locally- all the guys in charge went to bed so I stood by so they could all get some rest since most of them have 9-5 jobs and my schedule is whatever I want it to be.

So, it’s 04:44 local.
Trey is going to bed.

Millie will be standing by at the front desk to take your calls. (I don’t think she knows how to use a phone but we’ll figure it out.)

Bought a cheap FEIT Electric camera at Menards on clearance, I think it was $18? But the AI assist is pretty impressive. The camera isn’t going to be in service here, but, how it gives you a breakdown of what’s going on- it’s pretty neat.

ā€œA small toy car is in the window sill next to some cans,ā€ that’s…spot on correct. The note about the hoodie, that too. VERY cool.

Other than the TP-Link Kasa EC71 cameras being a good bang for the buck, these are right up there with it. I wasn’t a big fan of these until I figured out more about them. Now? I’m sold. Definitely going to add some at both HQ locations.

Tornado Watch #343 that was issued and set to expire at 1am has been EXTENDED until 3am, for all the same areas- the entirety of our Wabash Valley coverage area.

We are still standing by here at our post and everyone else hit the sack but I am still monitoring on the radios on 145.230 and 444.600 if anyone has any reports.
