Does your phone only charge if you hold the cable at just the right angle?

Before you assume you need a new charging port, here's something that surprises a lot of people...

👖 Your pockets are the biggest culprit.

Over time, lint, dust, and debris get packed tightly into your charging port every time you put your phone in your pocket. Eventually, the charging cable can't seat all the way, causing loose connections or intermittent charging.

⚠️ Before you grab a needle, knife, or paperclip...

Trying to clean it yourself can damage the tiny pins inside the charging port and turn a simple cleaning into a much more expensive repair.

If your phone:
✅ Charges only at certain angles
✅ Randomly disconnects while charging
✅ Feels like the charging cable won't click in securely..it may just need a professional inspection and cleaning.

Sometimes it's a worn charging port. Sometimes it's just years of packed-in pocket lint.

Either way, it's much cheaper to find out than to replace a phone you didn't need to replace.

❌ MYTH BUSTING MONDAY

"Putting a wet phone in rice will fix it."

🚫 MYTH!

Believe it or not, rice is one of the worst things you can do after your phone gets wet.

Here's why:

🌾 Rice doesn't remove the moisture trapped deep inside your phone.

🌾 Tiny grains and dust can get lodged in your charging port, speakers, and other openings, creating even more problems.

🌾 The longer moisture sits inside your device, the greater the chance of corrosion damaging important internal components.

✅ If your phone gets wet:

• Turn it off immediately.
• Don't plug it into a charger.
• Don't use a hair dryer or microwave (yes... people actually try that 😅).
• Bring it to a repair shop as soon as possible.

The sooner it's professionally inspected, the better the chances of saving your phone—and your data.

If your phone is swelling, overheating, or the screen is lifting away from the frame, stop using it and have it inspected as soon as possible. A damaged lithium-ion battery can become dangerous without warning.

Wanted to share an email i sent to my staff today about a Hacking Alert. I'm including the email without the attachment so folks are aware of an issue effecting a lot of our customers.

This is a fishing attack we got in our email, The file is relatively harmless and wont flag as a virous but it was sent as a settlement offer. I moved it to a secure pc then started playing with it. It simply takes you to a fake Microsoft login and there are some compressed java files that run and it ships off your user name and password to the creator then tells you your password was wrong then forwards you to Microsoft's actual log in where you log in successfully and find no letter. Most customers will never know there Microsoft account has been compromised.

We need to watch out for these and also make our customers aware. The file is safe to play with just don't use actual Microsoft credentials or the account can be stolen at the hackers discursions. However I think this is a hack and don't take over the account kind of attack. Once they have the credentials the have access to one drive backups, credit card and account information and possible remote access depending on the account configuration.

Always remember Microsoft, Google or any other major provider will never ask you to call them, or tell you need there help to fix a problem, and un expected emails with un known attachment's or that take you to log in to another account you have are inevitably an attack or fishing. Only log into your accounts when you go to them to log in never log in after being redirected from a link to another document or program.

This is becoming a big problem and is the majority of account hacks.
