Tidewater Area Macintosh Users Group An Apple User Group Serving the Cities of Tidewater, Virginia. http://tidewatermug.757.org TarMac was founded by a group of three Mac enthusiasts in 1984.

They founded TarMac on the principle that formalities during user group meetings only interfere with the club's primary purpose -- to enjoy all things Apple. Because of this founding concept, TarMac remains an informal organization, open to all. As Apple has evolved, so has TarMac. While once solely a Macintosh users group, we've grown into a group that supports all Apple products.

We had a terrific meeting on April 16th. While we talked about several Apple-related topics, the main event for the evening was a discussion of Google's use (and other search engine use of) AI to improve searching. The more specific your question, the better the Google can answer it. We even had Google tell us the name of a flower by showing it a picture.

A current TarMac member (thanks, Ray!) found this article in today’s Virginian Pilot newspaper. It’s an excellent history of Apple in a 10-minute read. Brings back lots of memories.
