Another Guest Glimmers post has arrived! A cozy corner of the KBD blog where creative friends I trust share their insights, stories, and secrets that spark. ✨

This week’s guest? One of my favorite people to see on a monthly basis – Alyssa of 💆🏼‍♀️☁️✨

Alyssa is a licensed massage therapist and fellow small business owner who helps her clients reconnect with their bodies so they can keep building their dreams without burning out in the process.

In her guest post, she’s chatting allllll about why investing in your body isn’t optional when you’re building a business, and how to stop treating a massage as a last resort when you’re already in pain.

Here’s a sneak peek of what she covers:

✨ Why waiting until you’re in pain means you’re already behind

✨ How to schedule self-care like a non-negotiable business expense

✨ The early warning signs your body is sending that you’re ignoring

✨ Why your body is literally part of your business success

If you’ve ever pushed through tight shoulders, headaches, and exhaustion because “things are too busy right now,” this one’s for you.

Read the full post on the KBD blog (link in bio!) and give Alyssa a follow at for more reminders to take care of yourself as well as you take care of your business.

Every once in a while I work on a project that feels so special and magical from the very beginning and this one was exactly that 🧚‍♀️

Julie is an intuitive healer that works with clients navigating the obstacles of life, especially related to generational trauma.

When her inquiry first came through and I saw connections between similar stories of our lives, I knew this project was going to be wonderful. We even got the opportunity to meet up mid project to dream and think big in person which is always so, so special ☁️

Julie, it was an honor to work by your side designing this next chapter of your business and I’m so excited to see where it takes you 💫🌌

A sunny and warm Memorial Day weekend is just what I needed 💙☁️🇺🇸

If you’re in the TC area this weekend, be sure to stop by in Elk Rapids today! They’re open until 3 and might just be the most amazingly curated shop in all of Northern Michigan for home decor and small gifts 🪞🛋️

You didn’t start your business just for it blend in to a sea of beige, it was meant for more 🌈

You started this business with magic and hope in your heart and believed you could bring something different to the table.

So why gravitate toward the same watered-down versions of Canva brands and Showit templates the internet keeps trying to convince you you need?

Color is where I start with every client to differentiate them in their respective industries 🎨

It’s not about asking you your favorite color or what you think looks “aesthetic.” It’s getting down to the details of how your brand ✨feels✨

Your brand is allowed to be girly, bold, soft, whimsical, grounded, calm, or whatever feels like home to you.

What it’s not allowed to be? So bland and full of sameness that it doesn’t stop your dream client mid-scroll.

One thing about me? I always knew my career was going to be creative.

My first “real” job might have been at the local pizza joint, but before that? I was making enough money selling custom hand painted shoes and backpacks to pay for a trip to Europe.

Come college, I was ready to climb the corporate internal art department ladder until this pandemic, as you might recall, threw in wrench in my plans to forever design torch packaging (jk but that is a thing I did, peep slide 5!!)

Post grad, I ended up working as a designer for a furniture manufacturer and had the most toxic relationship with design I’ve ever had until I called it quits, up and moved to Northern Michigan, and decided to create my own career instead.

And now? I get to wake up every day and create magic for people like you!! 🧚‍♀️

And I wouldn’t have it any other way 🤭✨
