3D-Printed Functional Scale & Seismic Demo Models for PEMB Sales & Engineering Training
Helping builders, sales teams, and engineering educators make complex structural concepts tangible, interactive, and easy for clients and students to grasp.

The load does not disappear. It reroutes.

This top‑down view is one of the cleanest ways to show load path in a PEMB.

With the end‑wall X‑brace installed, the eave load has a much more direct path into a nearby vertical resisting line. Remove that end‑wall brace, and the force still has to get to the foundation – it just has to travel through the rafter, roof bracing, and rigid frame path instead.

That’s why IBC 2024 Section 1604.4 is such a useful training reference: the structure needs a complete load path from the point of origin to the load‑resisting elements, and lateral force distribution has to consider the relative rigidity of the vertical elements and the horizontal bracing system or diaphragm. ASCE 7‑16 Section 12.1.3 says the same thing in seismic language: continuous load paths need adequate strength and stiffness from the point of application to the final point of resistance.

The training takeaway:
An X‑brace is not just a line on the plan. It decides where the force goes.
For builder schools and internal PEMB training, this is the kind of thing people remember once they can actually see it move.

If you run PEMB trainings and want crews to see this load path instead of guessing from sketches, that’s exactly what I built the PEMB Seismic Training Tool for. Details and pricing are here: 👉 https://pyriteprinting.com/products/pemb-seismic-training-tool-3d-printed-model

As of posting this, there is 1 free custom logo base ($75 value) left for US & Canada launch‑partner orders with code LOGOBASE.

Outside the US & Canada, I’m putting together a small international pilot group while I sort out shipping. If you want to be considered, add your name here: 👉 https://pyriteprinting.com/pages/international-pemb-seismic-training-tool-interest-list

Hey 3D Printing Friends — I’m Justice from Tremonton, Utah.
Husband, dad of two little ones, civil engineer by day at Nucor Steel (Masters from Utah State), and total 3D-printing nerd the rest of the time.

I love mountain biking, designing useful stuff, and solving real problems with a 3D printer.
