In almost 40 years working with all types of AV installations in churches, plants and schools in North Alabama, today was a new first.

Found this snake skin under a church stage and the church was not on Sand Mountain 🤣🤣

Good thing I’m not afraid of snakes.

Recently we got a call from the beautiful Corinth Baptist Church in the Macedonia community on Sand Mountain. We had installed the sound, video and lighting system when they built the church about 14 years ago.

They had an electrical storm go by and knocked out the digital speaker controller.

We installed a new DBX Drive rack along with a new Crown amplifier and got everything back up and running.

Now we’re talking about some acoustic panels to help with the hard reflections off the curved back wall.

Church looks almost new and the folks were painting bathrooms as we worked. Great folks!

Happy 39th anniversary to us! It’s a bit hard to believe but Thompson Sound has been going full time for almost 4 decades.

We are so appreciative of the hundreds of churches, schools, auditoriums and commercial customers that chose to give us a try years ago and are still coming back.

We have several customers who have been with us for 35+ years.

We are about to begin our 4th football stadium installation on Monday. This year appears to be our sports customer year with all the stadiums, ball fields and gymnasiums.

Thank you for all who have been a part of the past 39 years.

A local high school football stadium is about to out-sound (or outshine) all their competitors.

Finishing up a big ElectroVoice system with Allen&Heath digital mixer for audio control and 12,000 watts of EV/Dynacord digital power amplifiers.

What about tiny churches? Who will help them?

We will!

Our company exists, not only to feed our families, but to spread the Gospel.

Occasionally we will get a call from a church desperate for help. They've been turned down or ignored by other contractors. They don't have a big congregation or a big budget and so they've just limped along with whatever equipment they could patch together.

We were honored to help a tiny church recently. The system we installed included some new and some gently used equipment that was very affordable. We cleaned up some wires and tape and now their mixer is in a neat little rack and the sanctuary is filled with beautiful sound.

Here’s a few pictures of our sound upgrade for First Christian Church in Athens, AL.

ElectroVoice LRC 2100 columns are hardly noticeable and sound great, of course!

Church is happy that they help preserve the historic 105 yr old look of the room.

Old JBL speakers were on mounts hanging off the wall in same spots and were close to falling with only short lags and Sheetrock screws holding them up.

Next week we will complete the video streaming system and video projection system upgrades.

Just completed today a complete AV system upgrade for Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church.

We installed a new Soundcraft Si Impact digital mixer and added new EV LRC series speakers to their older but still great EV EVI-28 center speaker for a nice Left/Center/Right stereo system plus added a new EV subwoofer.
Crown amps and great sounding AKG wireless from their old system completed the audio.

We added new left & right 86” HDTVs to the front side walls and installed a new Vaddio PTZ camera with a Roland direct streaming mixer to round everything out.

Was great back working again with these wonderful folks.
