It looked like a cooling problem.

A thermostat was showing nearly 98°F, making it seem like the HVAC system wasn't keeping up.

The obvious conclusion? A cooling issue.

But after reviewing the building data, the real culprit was a failed temperature sensor.

This happens more often than many people realize. Equipment can appear to be failing when the actual issue is a bad sensor, incorrect reading, or faulty data point.

That's why building analytics matter.

Instead of guessing, facility teams can identify the root cause and focus on what actually needs attention.

The thermostat showed a problem. The data showed the truth.

Clean vents are important, but they are only part of the story.

A facility can look fine from the outside while hidden HVAC issues are still driving up energy waste, comfort complaints, and maintenance costs behind the scenes.

Resolute Building Intelligence helps facility teams look beyond the vent and into the data. From stuck dampers and failed airflow sensors to simultaneous heating and cooling or equipment running after hours, building analytics can help uncover issues before they become expensive problems.

Clean the vents.
Then check the data.

Sometimes buildings need a support group, too.

Overrides. Schedules. Setpoints. Dampers. Sensors. Systems running 24/7 for reasons nobody can explain.

That is where building data helps.

Resolute does not fix equipment. We help uncover what is really going on so facility teams can restore proper operation, improve comfort and performance, and lower energy costs.

All systems talk. We listen.

What a great day supporting a great foundation.

The Hank Greenberg Memorial Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Invitational is always a fantastic event, and yesterday’s beautiful weather made it even better.

While the golf, networking, and camaraderie make the day enjoyable, the real reason we participate is to help raise vital funds that support health, education, and those less fortunate throughout Metro Detroit and the State of Michigan.

Here are a few photos from the day, including appearances by Detroit Tigers legends Alan Trammell and Dave Rozema!

A special thank you to Benn Glendenning from Catalyst Partners; Todd Heiden, Rob Maldonado, and Mark Carrier from La-Z-Boy Incorporated; and Aaron Davis from Ford for joining Jeffrey Sanscrainte, Antonio Popp, and Bill Popp on the course. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as our team did.

And bonus points to Antonio and Bill for representing the Resolute and MadDog Technology golf swag on the course.

Happy World Bicycle Day

World Bicycle Day celebrates the bicycle as a simple, sustainable way to support health, equity, and the environment.

A bike stops when nobody is using it.
But buildings do not always work that way.

Empty classrooms, offices, and shared spaces can still be heated or cooled like they are occupied.

Resolute helps facility teams identify where building systems are running out of sync with real occupancy.

Sometimes the issue you see is not the real issue.

What looked like a renovation problem was actually an HVAC design deviation problem. Changes made during a renovation can affect how building systems perform long after the work is finished.

Resolute helped identify where the system no longer matched the intended design, giving the facility team a clearer path to the real problem.

Building data does not just show what is happening. It helps explain why.

Hidden HVAC issues can be a lot like alligators. You may only see what is happening on the surface, while the real problem is sitting below.

Resolute helps teams use existing building data to identify issues that BAS graphics alone can miss, from energy waste to comfort problems and day-to-day operational inefficiencies.

See beyond the surface. Find the issue behind the waste.

What looked like a tenant comfort issue was actually a control problem.

Comfort complaints are often the first sign that something deeper is happening in the system. A room feels too warm, another feels too cold, and the first reaction is usually to adjust the temperature.

But the real issue may be how the system is being controlled.

Building data helped identify what was really going on so the team could move from guessing to action.
