With Earth Day tomorrow, we wanted to share a project that one of our own, Jim Ferrara, has been working on!
The goal is to remove/reduce invasive, non-native plants on the property and replace them with native plants to attract pollinators. The hope is that by growing in a few select areas, seeds can be collected to create more areas as time goes on and more of the invasives are removed. The main focus this season will be Common Milkweed for the Monarch Butterflies. 🦋
Invasive plants being removed:
Oriental bittersweet, Autumn Olive Bushes/Trees, Wild Garlic Mustard, Invasive Mugwort, Multiflora Rose Burning Bush and Barbary Bush
Swipe for more intel from Jim & Stay tuned for the ending results!
