I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Turkey Day means Black Friday and Cyber Monday here at Flammable Media, a big day for online retailers with Mental Mojo being no exception, and a client never to miss an opportunity to market their cutting-edge nootropic and sleep aid products. In fact, CEO, Alex LaCroix and the Mojo team gear up all year for their annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events, and I look forward to providing the ad creative every time. I have worked with Mental Mojo for nearly 5 years now, providing everything from the packaging design for their product lines, to brainstorming and designing their display ads. Working with Alex is always a blast and tends to stretch my creative muscles with every project. The Mojo brand is as smart as it is playful, so the goal is always to achieve a balance between wit and whimsy to inspire consumer engagement. This year, we ran a buy one, get one free sale, with the added bonus of receiving a free gift — a limited edition mustache mask — which I also created for the promotion. The sale ran is 2 parts. The theme for part 1 (the “Turkey Day Travel Sale”) centered around Thanksgiving, and focused on the convenient portability of their pocket-sized stick packs for both Mental as well as Mellow Mojo, targeted at holiday travelers on-the-go. Part 2 of the campaign (“the Double Door Buster Sale”), was geared more toward their product tubs and featured the bonus mustache mask gift with purchase. I developed a series of ads for both parts of the campaign to keep the ad runs fresh with each pass. I am happy to say that both the sales as well as the mask were a hit, evident by the happy customers shown, smiling underneath their big green mustaches.
