Booster shots are necessary to fight the omicron variant. Everyone who is eligible for a booster shot should get one ASAP.

Today, the CDC approved the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot for kids ages 12-15. Boosters work — and offer the highest level of protection against Omicron. If your child is eligible, get them boosted today.

Don't know if anyone else has run up against this issue but I thought I'd post my experience here.
I upgraded to FCPX 10.2.2 and only recently had to open an older project that I hadn't touched since the end of last year. It was a fairly large project and I understood it would need to update the library to open in the new version. I've done that for other small projects with no problem. But because this project was so big, it was taking a while and I was freaking out. In the Activity Monitor it would sometimes say that Final Cut was not responding. I would stop and restart.
Finally I just decided to wait it out and eventually (hours later) it finished the update and the project opened.
Granted, I'm on an older MacPro, so I shoulda figured it would take a while.
So if anyone else is having this issue, I would just urge patience.

Cut on FCPX!

TED talks, once for the privileged few who attended the global eponymous conferences in person, are now the de facto way online to learn about something new, and potentially, gain a new perspective on an age-old topic in the process. Many TED talks go viral and rack up views in the millions and beyo…

Cool commercial cut on FCPX.

It started off as a post from Thomas Carter on our popular Forum and as suggested, this Final Cut Pro X user story just had to make the front page. The new Sony Xperia commercial gets cut on FCPX and the result is rather superb. Enjoy.

Good advice on customizing FCPX screen layouts

One of the things I really liked about Final Cut Pro “legacy” was the ability to create and customize numerous screen layouts. By rearranging its collection of tabbed and floating windows, it was e...

It is a great headline, but the facts are there to back it up. At a recent meeting at the Digital Cinema Society, Neil Smith from LumaForge gave us more information on that film...

Should Professional Editors care about FCPX?

Last October Kevin McAuliffe told us in two articles that Final Cut Pro X wasn't worth caring about: "FCPX is still not ready for professional use". He caught a lot of crap for saying so, but he was right... in a very constrained context (which, ...

New FCPX! A lot of new features we've all been asking for.

Apple?s brand new release of FCP X (version 10.1) is an absolutely massive upgrade that is sure to spark a lot of interest even from the most skeptical of editors.
