The Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors and MLS Technology, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Grant Cody as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing nearly a decade of legal expertise and a proven record of transformative leadership in public service and real estate regulation.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a licensed attorney for 10 years, Grant currently serves as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC). Prior to leading OREC, he was one of the youngest Assistant Attorneys Generals in Oklahoma, representing the State of Oklahoma and serving as general counsel to the State Medical Board, State Election Board, and Office of Juvenile Affairs, as well as handling civil appeals.
Beyond his executive role, Grant was elected by real estate regulators from around the country to serve on the Board of Directors for the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO), is President of the Oklahoma City Community College Foundation Board of Trustees, and Chairs ARELLOโs Law and Regulation Committee. He is also an active real estate investor in commercial, residential, and vacant land in Oklahoma City, where his family has operated a small business since 1959.
Under Grantโs leadership from 2019 to 2025, OREC achieved record-setting results:
โข Increased cash reserves from $325,000 to $4.5 million
โข Transitioned from paper-based to fully automated online systems
โข Turned monthly losses of $30,000 into average net proceeds exceeding $100,000 per month
โข Cut service wait times by 80% and became a same-day service agency
โข Implemented one of the first mobile apps among state agencies
โข Launched a new website, expanded the contract forms library, and created education, compliance, online portal, and online video guides
โข Implemented Live streaming of all Commission meetings for enhanced transparency
โข Earned three ARELLO awards, rewrote the Real Estate License Code, modernized administrative rules, and drafted key contract updates
โข Passed multiple pieces of legislation to update the Real Estate License Code, target predatory real estate wholesaling, and codify the option for consumers to utilize cooperative compensation
