Republican operatives are voicing growing concerns over Sen. Jon Husted’s Senate campaign performance in Ohio. Despite reporting more than $6 million in his latest campaign finance filings, the funds sit in an account established for a long-held gubernatorial bid rather than his high-stakes Senate battle against Democrat Sherrod Brown. With the race proving critical to control of the U.S. Senate, party insiders question whether Husted’s focus remains divided.

Do you think campaign funds raised for state offices should easily transfer to federal races? Let us know your thoughts below.

A jury of nine women and three men in Massachusetts is continuing deliberations in the murder trial of 36-year-old Lindsay Clancy. Clancy does not dispute killing her three children in 2023, but her defence team argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and heard a hallucinated voice telling her to do it. Under Massachusetts law, prosecutors must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was criminally responsible and knew right from wrong. Prosecutors contend Clancy made a calculated, intentional decision to kill her children and knew her actions were wrong.
Jurors have several distinct options before them:

-First-degree murder: Conviction requires finding intentional, premeditated killing or extreme atrocity, carrying a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.
-Second-degree murder: Applies to deliberate killings committed with malice but without prior planning, carrying a life sentence with the possibility of parole.
-Manslaughter: Applies to unlawful killings without intent to cause death, carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison per count.
-Not guilty by reason of insanity: If found not criminally responsible due to mental illness, Clancy would be committed to a state psychiatric hospital rather than a state prison.

Do you believe someone suffering from severe postpartum psychosis should be held criminally responsible for their actions?
