We had a fang-tastic time celebrating Halloween at Fair-Rite! 🎃👻

Our Wallkill and Flat Rock teams enjoyed Halloween luncheons with good food, fun games, and some sweet competition guessing the candy corn count! Thanks to everyone who helped make our celebrations a treat!

A closer look at the materials powering new possibilities! 🔬

Fair-Rite was pleased to welcome Professor Khurram Khan Afridi and eight of his students from Cornell University for a tour of our facility and a closer look at our high frequency power materials.

We enjoyed sharing our manufacturing processes, discussing ferrite materials, and connecting with the next generation of engineers. Thank you to Professor Afridi and his students for their interest and thoughtful questions!

Ferrite Fact Friday: Multiple apertures open the door to multiple applications!

Fair-Rite multi-aperture cores feature two or more openings that allow conductors to be routed through the core in different winding configurations. Their compact design makes them useful for EMI suppression, baluns, and other broadband transformer applications.

These versatile cores are available in several Fair-Rite materials, including 43, 61, 67, and 73, helping engineers select a solution based on the frequency range and performance their design requires. Multi-aperture cores are even used in automotive airbag systems to help prevent accidental activation caused by electrical interference!

📸 Technical Spotlight: Tamás Horváth in Action!

Today Tamás Horváth presented "Ferrite Material Performance Changes with Core Geometry" at the TÜV Rheinland Northeast Technology & Innovation Center in Boxborough, MA.

His presentation explored how ferrite core size influences magnetic parameters and real-world electronic applications, highlighting the important role core geometry plays in magnetic performance.

Ferrite Fact Friday: Ferrite solutions don’t always come in the form of a rigid core!

Fair-Rite® Flexible Ferrite Sheets combine ferrite material with a flexible PET backing and adhesive layer. This engineered sheet construction allows the product to bend and conform to different surfaces while providing an easy-to-apply, peel-and-stick solution.

Available in six material grades and four standard thicknesses—as thin as 0.13 mm total—the sheets can support applications including radiated-emissions suppression, wireless charging, RFID and NFC antennas, PCB and IC components, and switch-mode power supplies. Custom shapes are also available for application-specific requirements.

Manufacturing Day was all about connecting the next generation with manufacturing opportunities across the Hudson Valley!

Students from Marlboro High School visited Sono-Tek Corporation, students from John G. Borden Middle School toured Fair Rite Products, and students and parents from Dutchess BOCES and Dutchess Community College’s Mechatronics Lab visited MPI, Inc. and Dorsey Metrology International.

We also collaborated with SUNY New Paltz for a career exploration event, giving students another opportunity to learn more about the many pathways available in manufacturing and engineering.

And Manufacturing Month isn’t over yet! Throughout October, the Council of Industry is continuing to connect local schools with manufacturers for facility tours and career exploration opportunities.
