What we have here is a prime example of what's possible when you embrace modern tech! 👀

This video for Schecter Guitars & Glassjaw was tracked using the live rig I designed and programmed which is just a small 2-space rack housing an interface, wireless and a laptop; flies in an overhead bin, no checked gear.

Ableton is controlling playback and all tones are software-based and automated, even the wah throws (no tap dancing on pedals required!), so what you're hearing here is what you've heard live from the band if you've been to a show over the past few years. Nothing wild on the drums, either - just EQ, 'verb and compression; natural sounds (no sample replacement).

Alright ladies and gents, the time has finally come!

You've all been asking for it for literally a decade now; my knowledge, mentality and approach to music and engineering captured and cataloged on video to be able to share and refer back to at any time...

Well, today marks the official launch of the Eric Mitchell Audio Patreon. While I've yet to populate any paid access content yet, I've chosen to launch immediately because there is now a multitude of options for discounted access to my services via committing to monthly subscriptions.

This avenue is all new to me, so please, if you have any feedback or suggestions let me know! I look forward to building this up into a sizable, reliable source of professional resources and learning for anyone taking music and audio engineering seriously. Sustaining your own small business in the current economy is challenging. Doing so within the creative field - even more so, speaking from experience. That being said, the way this relationship works is that when you struggle, so do I. Paying for top-shelf audio engineering is a luxury in life for many, one that I'm not ignorant to understanding gets cut early on when funds are tight. With the cost of living up 4x today from a year ago, it's obvious dreamers have less money to spend on that pursuit these days.

It's for this reason, effective immediately, hard/flat pricing for my services is gone. I will now operate on a case by case, job by job basis to work with you to find a path to the end result you're aiming for in a way that's financially feasible for you.

It feels like nearly everyone is struggling right now; I know that at every point in my life I had to endure struggle, my music and art was the fallback for medicine/expression/relief during those times. I don't want to be out of reach for the people who rely on my help when it's needed most.

If my work has been financially out of reach for you, please get in touch and we will figure something out. I would only please ask that if you ARE able to afford what my asking prices have been, please do not take advantage of my generosity and seek to pay less than you know the work is worth.

I recently reposted an artist's story about how after being playlisted on Spotify, the plays were flagged as fake and the entire album was removed. Sadly, numerous other artists commented with similar stories. I was genuinely shocked to see how often this was happening, so I decided to do something about it.

This will have no real impact unless we spread the word far and wide; I encourage you to show support by signing and posting or reposting the link on your socials. Even if you're not an artist, it's easy to recognize how unfair this is and we all enjoy music, so please take 1 minute of your day to help support the artists.
