For this month’s company update, I want to share a quick story about one of our clients, give you an update on what’s been happening here at Business Optimizer, and offer some insight into why we approach things the way we do.
Real Example: When Switching SEO Companies Goes Wrong
I wanted to share a quick story and a reminder about why we do things the way we do.
Back in August, one of our long-term clients decided to try out another SEO company. We had been working with them for years, their site had been gaining solid traction, rankings were climbing, and leads were flowing in. But they got talked into thinking someone else could do it better.
Since then, their rankings have completely tanked.
They went from showing up 1,619 times in search results (in a day) before cancelling to just 62 impressions today (that's a whopping 96%+ drop in impressions). Unfortunately, they’re now stuck in a 6-month contract with that company and have lost most of the progress we built together.
It’s tough to see, especially because we know how much time and effort it takes to build momentum the right way. SEO is a long game, and bad decisions can set you back months or even years.
Note that seeing drops of 50% is common, however to see a drop of 96% is staggering
