It’s been a week since I’ve posted, because summer turned out busier than the school year ever was. Travel, camps, kids at home - more fun, also more chaos. And I haven’t shown up as consistently as I want to.

Here’s the story my brain wanted to tell me: “You haven’t done this in a week. What are you even going to say now?” That exact flavor of shame - I hear it constantly from clients, just pointed at money instead of content. They build a great habit: monthly budget, tracking spending, checking the account. It works for a month, two months. Then life happens - a sick kid, a hard season - and the habit slips.

What actually keeps people away isn’t the slip. It’s the shame about the slip. So instead of avoiding it, take a minute. Let yourself feel whatever comes up. Then begin again - right where you are.

That’s what today is for me. I’m not picking up where some imaginary “perfect” version of me left off. I’m just coming back.

A woman on a call with me this week asked what tools we’d even use in this work. Great question - most of us taught to solve every problem using our heads. We’ve got diplomas, the grades, the raises, the salary to prove that it works.

But your body has been keeping its own records this whole time. The tools we use in somatic work are breathwork, visualization, mediation and embodiment. Not to bypass your mind - to finally let the part of you that never got to speak come into a container safe enough to be heard. Seen. Felt.

Not incense and vibes. It was such a relief for my head, finally - just tapping into my body’s wisdom and letting it do what it already knows how to do.

20 goal attempts. 1 goal. 120 + minutes.

That was Spain in yesterday’s World Cup final - and it’s basically entrepreneurship in a nutshell.

We launch something. It doesn’t land the way we wanted. And the story we tell ourselves: this must be for me. I quit.

But that tightness in your chest after a launch flops does not mean you should quit- it’s information and just your nervous system reacting. Elite athletes don’t let one missed shot decide the game. They reset, stay in and take the next shot.

How do you reset? Drop in the comments below.

Can we talk about celebrations for a second?

We’re so quick to skip it. “I’m not there yet, so there is nothing to celebrate.” But nothing in this work happens overnight - not your relationship with money, not your emotions, not anything worth changing.

This week I am celebrating something small: I started making these videos. It’s so vulnerable and every comment and message you’ve left has meant more than you know.

So let’s celebrate together. What do you want to celebrate? Feel free to drop it in the comments.

There’s a lot of great money advice out there. Credit card points, prenups, budgets- the more women talking openly about money, the better.

But almost all of it is external. It tells you what to do with money. It doesn’t ask what your body feels the moment you think about money.

Here’s what I found, 20+ years into a finance/accounting career, then again when I went through my body-based healing certification: most women don’t need more advice. They already know they should have a budget and check their expenses. What they don’t know is why they can’t.

For a lot of women, the somatic response to money is freeze. Our body remembers something about money and it shuts the door before we can act on anything we already know.

That’s what somatic healing offers - a safe space to look at what your body has remembered and internalized about money and get curious about the wisdom it has. From there, the steps that actually change your relationship to money start to reveal themselves.

What does your body do the moment you hear the word money?

I have been thinking about differentiation.

When I started the bookkeeping business, I almost didn’t. The market was full of bookkeepers-why add one more? So I dug into what would actually make mine different. Two things:

I made it personal. Accountants have a reputation of being dry and distant. I built a team that responded within 24 hours, in plain friendly language - the way a friend would. Turns out what entrepreneurs needed most wasn’t just accurate books. It was to feel safe asking the questions in the first place.

I built the company around women. Not just who we served-how we worked. Flexibility, policies, rhythms that actually honored the cycles of life we move through.

What makes you different in what or how you do what you do? I love to hear it in the comments.

I’ve been thinking about posting for months.

My life up until now has been built behind the scenes. As a mother, a CFO, my life and success had largely been invisible. And I grew to be comfortable with that.

So the idea of showing up here, on camera, saying something real? Terrifying.

I don’t have it all figured out. I don’t have a content calendar. I don’t know the trends.

But I completed my certification. And I’m answering a calling that I can’t and don’t want to ignore anymore - to be a money coach, to help women heal their relationship with money and worth from the inside out.

So this is me. Unpolished. Trusting that I am vessel for what wants to move through me and for something bigger than fear. 1% braver.
