Every year, along our coasts, something incredible happens.
Under the cover of darkness, sea turtles return to the same beaches where they were born—laying the next generation that will one day do the same.
It’s a cycle that has existed for over 100 million years.
And yet today, it’s more fragile than ever.
Artificial light, human activity, and coastal development can disrupt nesting and disorient hatchlings before they ever reach the ocean.
Awareness matters.
Observation matters.
Data matters.
At WatchSpotter, we believe better data leads to better protection—giving researchers the tools they need to monitor, understand, and protect these critical moments.
If you’re near the coast this season:
• Keep beaches dark at night
• Respect marked nesting areas
• Give wildlife the space they need
Because sometimes, the most important thing we can do… is simply not interfere.
