🎙️What was your first job and how has it shaped your career?

My first job was working at Ben & Jerry’s, and it was my introduction to the working world. It taught me how to interact with a wide range of people, stay composed during busy shifts, and deliver great service consistently. Even in a fast-paced environment, I learned the value of showing up with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, principles that continue to shape how I approach my career today 🍨 😋
🎙️Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

Before starting my career in recruiting, I lived and worked in Charleston, SC, where I had the incredible opportunity to work at the renowned Hominy Grill directly under a James Beard Award-winning chef. During my time there, I had the chance to meet culinary legends like Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali, and even Jimmy Fallon. It was a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that taught me the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and grace under pressure, skills that continue to serve me well in my professional journey 🙌

🎙️What's the best professional advice you've ever received?

"Listen more than you speak.” Early in my career, I thought I always had to have the answer or speak up first. I later learned real impact comes from listening, understanding different perspectives, and asking thoughtful questions. Now, whether I’m partnering with candidates, hiring managers, or colleagues, taking the time to truly listen has helped me build trust, understand needs more clearly, and make more thoughtful decisions ❣️

Welcome back to team Tatum Williams! 🤩

After a few years away, Tatum returned to the TI Family last month joining the People Team as our new Governance Manager. We caught up with a few questions to get to know her better 🎙️👯

🎙️What was your first job and how has it shaped your career?

My first job was hostessing at Buffalo Wild Wings and it shaped my career in ways I’ve only come to appreciate in adulthood. Underpinning almost every job is some degree of customer service - whether that "customer" be an outside client or internal colleague, you need to be able to work with people. This requires being patient, flexible, and kind, and understanding the value of extending grace to others, following through on tasks and deliverables, and communicating clearly 🥰

🎙️What most excites you about being back at Trader Interactive?

In the years since last working at Trader, I've grown tremendously in my career in the employment governance and compliance space; knowing that I can bring that specialized experience and knowledge as new Governance Manager into a space that needs it as it further hones its cultural and company identity is incredibly motivating and exciting.

🎙️What's the best professional advice you've ever received?

"Learn to accept mediocrity in others." When a former mentor told me this, I was taken aback and didn't understand how it wasn't an offensive and impractical mindset. But now, I have a better understanding of the real meaning behind it: learning to accept mediocrity is relative, and most often simply means learning to accept that not everyone is going to do something how you would, and that's okay - my way of doing things isn't always superior and another way of doing things isn't inferior 🙌

🎙️And finally, tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I’ve never met anyone with the same first name as me…

It’s Employee Spotlight time and this week we’re celebrating Jared Haley, who was recently promoted to Co-Op Advertising Manager. We caught up with Jared to find out all about his new role.

🎙️What was your first job here at TI?

📢 I joined Trader Interactive in 2016 as a Sales Executive for Cycle Trader. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to grow within the organization, working on the Implementation Team, the Rec Account Management Team, and most recently, the OEM Team.

🎙️Tell us a little bit about your new role!

📢 In my new role as Co-op Advertising Manager, I serve as the subject matter expert for co-op across all areas of the business. I also have the privilege of leading a talented team that supports our dealers through the co-op claim filing process.

🎙️What is your favorite thing about working at TI?

📢 TI has an unbeatable culture that truly fosters innovation, collaboration, and a sense of community. It’s a place where people support each other and great ideas are encouraged to thrive.

🎙️And just for fun; if you could swap roles with one person at TI for the day, who would that be and why?

📢 I’d probably swap roles with the person who leads TI's acquisition efforts. But only if I could turn the whole thing into a Shark Tank-style setup—picture David and me in sharp suits, listening to pitches, dramatically questioning valuations, and making high-stakes decisions. And if we can't agree? The finalists face off on an American Ninja Warrior course to determine who gets acquired. Sounds like a fun day, right?

Trader Interactive is proud to be part of the CAR Group and this week we are excited to share that we’re taking part in the CAR Group Tour 🙌

The CAR Group Tour provides the opportunity for up to five team members to participate in a week-long intensive experience in one of our global businesses 🌏

All five participants will travel to the host business and spend a week learning about that business, sharing their knowledge from their business, networking with new people across the Group, and meeting with the local executive team 👯

The CAR Group Tour will provide a great opportunity for participants to grow and develop their skills and gain a deeper understanding of CAR Group – particularly when it comes to learning more about the products, marketing approach, and customer base of other businesses in the Group aside from your own ⭐

The first CAR Group Tour will take place at carsales in Melbourne, Australia in August 🇦🇺
