These shoes were made for running (for Texas House) and thatâs just what theyâll do. Ashley Bean Thornton wants to run for Texas House so she can represent YOU!
When I moved to Waco in 2019, I didnât know anyone besides my family. My sister told me I had to reach out to Ashley because she founded Act Locally Waco. Of all the advice sheâs ever given me, Iâm so glad I listened to that one.
Ashley told me something Iâve never forgotten: Waco may be small, but thatâs exactly what makes it full of opportunity. Instead of complaining about whatâs missing, she encouraged me to create it. That mindset is who she is, hopeful, resourceful, and always focused on building a better community.
Her influence helped shape my community-focused approach to marketing and gave me the courage to start a business encouraging other people to grow what they love.
Iâve been lucky enough to learn from Ashley in a hundred different ways. When she made Act Locally Waco an official nonprofit, she invited me to join as a founding board member, giving me invaluable hands-on experience. She was a presenter when I enrolled in The Leadership Plenty Institute Waco, and she led a strategic planning session for Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce during my time on the board.
Ashley is the kind of leader who lifts everyone around her, and Waco is absolutely a better city because sheâs here.
Check out this gem from 2019 when we co-led a seminar for local businesses on best practices to organically promote events at Startup Waco!
If you want a representative who truly believes in people and puts community at the center of everything she does, follow Thornton for Texas and stay connected to her run for Texas House!
