⚡ Project Spotlight: Dogfish BESS | Fort Stockton, Texas

KMB Design Group served as the Electrical Engineer of Record for the 91 MW / 91 MWh Dogfish Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Fort Stockton, Texas.

The utility-scale facility includes 38 BESS containers and 39 power conversion systems, with KMB providing a comprehensive electrical engineering and studies package that included:

• AC and DC one-line diagrams
• MV feeder routing and trenching plans
• Transformer and inverter skid details
• Site grounding and auxiliary power design
• Communications, fiber, lighting, and fire alarm conduit routing
• ETAP short circuit, coordination, grounding, and arc flash studies

From IFC through as-built documentation, KMB’s team supported the project with coordinated, permit-ready electrical design for a large-scale energy storage installation.
