Property Supervisor
multi-state leader with a national reputation in quality affordable housing and community development, is seeking an experienced Property Supervisor to manage a portfolio of both market rate and subsidized residential properties. The ideal candidate is a turn-around specialist with strong management, financial, marketing and customer service background as well as extensive knowledge of tax credit and assisted housing programs. The candidate should also be highly organized, possess strong supervisory and time management skills and have a passion for improving people’s lives.
Responsibilities: The Property Supervisor manages the operations of a portfolio to maintain the integrity of the physical assets and maximize the returns from the assets in accordance with the organization’s objectives. Responsibilities include community outreach marketing programs, budgeting, capital improvement projects, facility management, accounts payables and receivables, portfolio required reporting and monitoring to ensure each property is in compliance with the requirements of the housing portfolio. The supervisor mentors, leads and inspires their property management staff to achieve optimal portfolio results and provide great customer service to residents.
The supervisor’s main office is in the Chicago loop but the supervisor will be required to travel to the different sites within Illinois.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business Management or related field preferred but not required.
Eight years’ experience in successfully overseeing and managing section 8, tax credit and market rate properties.
Tax Credit Certification, Accredited Residential Management and Leasing License required.
Five years of supervisory experience with a proven track record of motivating and managing property management teams.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Success in turning around properties.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong financial analysis experience.
Experience working with governmental and community representatives.
Good computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite and property management software/systems preferred (Boston Post, Yardi or MRI). Vehicle,
DL and insurance is required.
