Small study in Colorado where sometimes we would experience rain that evaporated before reaching the ground. The rain looked like thin wide tails falling from the clouds. This phenomenon is known as virga.

We live with a number of deer who also reside in the forests and meadows. They say the deer have two seasons—winter and non-winter. This has been a particularly tough winter with extended periods of snow and frigid weather. Finally, we are entering non-winter. Here is a pastel study of a frequent model and deer friend.
