2025 marked a pivotal moment for American democracy, as unprecedented threats to our institutions and Constitution were unleashed. In its 2025 Annual Report, Campaign Legal Center () details its response to these threats and outlines the work it’s doing to defend and strengthen democracy. We designed the report by building on CLC’s established brand system and visually emphasizing both the urgency of these threats and the organization’s efforts to confront them.

The cover collage reflects the current state of American democracy: a red-alert warning about the erosion of the separation of powers. Throughout the report, an intensified use of red sets this edition apart from previous years, reinforcing the heightened stakes described in the content. Bold typography and custom collages throughout the report support the written content. We introduced a new image treatment that layers monotone imagery with clipped black-and-white photography, and we also introduced the report’s three featured CLC programs through distinct accent colors applied across bands and feature collages.

May marks AAPI Heritage Month, a meaningful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the vibrant cultures, histories, and lasting contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. At Eighty2degrees, we proudly celebrate AAPI voices, stories, and histories—including those of our clients such as MOAPIA, NAAPIMHA, and SALDEF—and remain committed to amplifying their lasting impact on our shared story.

Our latest collaboration with our partners at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health introduces the brand identity for THRIVE Lab. The first piece of the project puzzle: the logo.

THRIVE Lab is a hub for public health research and action, bridging science, community impact, and public policy. Through studying toxic chemical exposures and their effects on health equity, the lab translates research into meaningful change.

The logo reflects THRIVE Lab’s distinct approach to public health. Molecular forms reference scientific rigor and collaborative research partnerships, while the human silhouette—filled with organic, flourishing forms—symbolizes growth, restoration, and clean chemistry. Paired with a custom wordmark that mirrors the symbol's structured and organic qualities, the logo represents the Lab’s practices, grounded in research while oriented toward action and collective well-being.

A warm, sunrise-inspired gradient within the figure conveys optimism, diversity, and hope. Rich, vibrant colors position THRIVE Lab as an innovative force in advancing equity in public health and pursuing healthier communities.

Less noise, more impact. In Campaign Legal Center's recent planned-giving mailer, we leaned into white space rather than filling every inch to highlight their efforts to advance democracy for the next generation.

By giving the message room to breathe, the mailer's story became clearer, and its ask became stronger, inspiring supporters to ensure their legacy includes a stronger, more resilient democracy.

We’re just 6 months away from the midterm elections, and it’s as important as ever to check your voter registration status. The recent blows to key protections of the Voting Rights Act—making it harder for many communities to access the ballot—remind us that our rights are not guaranteed. They require attention, participation, and action in our communities and at the ballot box.

If you’re eligible but not registered, take a few minutes to do so today. Visit vote.org to double-check your registration status, register to vote, and learn about your local candidates and where they stand on the issues that matter most to you. And don’t stop there. Encourage someone else to do the same.

November will be here before we know it. Make sure you’re ready when it counts.

May 1st is recognized worldwide as International Workers’ Day, a day to stand up for dignity, fairness, and stronger labor rights. In 2026, as rising costs continue to outpace wages and corporate greed drives record profits, we’re reminded of a critical right workers still lack: the guarantee of a true living wage.

Across the U.S. and around the world, even workers earning the highest minimum wages still fall short of covering basic needs for themselves and their families. This isn’t sustainable or fair. Workers deserve more. We all deserve wages that support stable, fulfilling lives.

This International Workers’ Day, join us in calling for a higher federal minimum wage and for economic systems that prioritize people over profit.

From the wilds of Minnesota to the streets of DC, we shouted out a Happy 3rd Workiversary to Kristina last week! A talented, detail-oriented, thoughtful person who shows up each day with a smile and wearing a hand-knitted sweater she made herself. And sometimes with baked goods, too! ;-)

To celebrate Kristina's teamwork, growth, and accomplishments at Eighty2degrees, the DC crew enjoyed a delicious lunch and some fabulous slices of cake at Unconventional Diner. Well done, Kristina! Thank you for being such a lovely person and an integral part of the 82D team.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been reminded of the world’s beauty: in rugged adventures in the Smoky Mountains, in the budding spring blooms in the city, and in the powerful new images of Earth from space. What a treat it’s been to experience our planet's marvels!

These moments also remind us that this beauty isn’t guaranteed. It’s up to all of us to protect it—for ourselves and for future generations—through our choices, our work, and our votes. This Earth Day, take time to enjoy the marvels around you and join us in committing to protect them.
