Cottrell Contracting, the Army Corps contractor for dredging the navigation channels serving Ocracoke will arrive next week and begin dredging in Bigfoot Slough 2.14.26 to 3.7.26. They will then pivot to Hatteras Ferry Channel 3.13.26 to 2.23.26, finishing up in Rollinson Channel 3.23.26 to 3.29.26 and 4.4.26 to 5.10.26. Recall that Sloop Channel (Hatteras Ferry Channel) is being dredged to 10' deep and 200' wide to eliminate the zig-zag section at the sound-end of the channel and allowing ferries to pass each other.

We've been keeping busy, but wanted to share an install we did recently. Included in the upgrades were a brighter laser projector, larger projector screen with programmed switch, and a video switcher to allow the church to switch between multiple inputs. The church can now easily control the projector from the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary.

We recently had the opportunity to install some upgrades in the oldest church in North Carolina. It's fascinating learning about the history of each place we visit, which we consider a cool perk of the job. 🙂

Upgrades to this church included:
Replacement of the old PTZ camera, leading to improved picture quality, clarity, and color.
Installation of two Electro-Voice speakers and one sub to provide audio coverage for the entire building.
The addition of a Sennheiser wireless handheld system, Allen & Heath mixer, and Furman power conditioner with the ability to connect laptops, phones, and tablets to the sound system.

With the recent closing of our music retail store, we’re now able to dedicate more time and energy to what we’re truly passionate about—professional audio/video installations and event services within our community.

One of our current projects involves upgrading the sound system at a local school. In the photos, you’ll see a newly installed Allen & Heath CQ-18T digital mixer, paired with a rack-mounted power conditioner to protect all the connected gear. We’ve also included a wireless router, making it easy to access and control the system wirelessly via iPad.

The upgrade didn’t stop there—we also installed new Electro-Voice speakers, a brand we trust for their excellent sound quality, solid warranty, and top-notch support (though we rarely need it—EV gear is built to last!).

We'll be returning to the school soon for some additional upgrades, including new microphones for a better all-around performance.

We're working through our wait list right now, but if your church, business, or school is in need of assistance - whether it be to fix any issues you are currently having with a service call or to provide a quote on audio and video system upgrades - we're here for you.
