SOCS Internet Providing High Speed Internet and Voip Phone service to Pike,Adams, and Scioto counties

^^^Update as of 5:35pm^^^

Technicians continue to work getting new cable hung and spliced together. Each end has 96 strands no denser than a piece of hair. Thus the cold temperatures add an extra layer of difficulty. The current ETA is that the first customers should start coming back on line around 8pm. Customers will then come back online in a staggered fashion as additional splices are made over the next couple hours until service is fully restored. Our apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

*** Network Update***
Asplundh cut our fiber while trimming trees in the area of no name and Jasper Rd.. Crews are in route to make the necessary repairs. Technicians will work as efficiently as possible to get customers around the Jasper area back up and running as soon as possible.

^^^^Update 8:00 pm 3/3/26^^^
New line has been installed and splices completed. All services should be restored. Again we apologized for any issues this has caused . Based on the damages it looks like someone cut our line down thinking it was copper.

^^^Update 2:05pm 3/3/26^^^
Unfortunately we are looking at an ETA of late tonight upwards of 11pm to midnight. There was some main line Fiber cut (vandalism). New fiber has to be ran and 192 splices made. It’s a time consuming process and the weather doesn’t help. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working hard to get everything restored as quickly as possible. If you have any information regarding the vandalism we would love to hear it. Not only is it very costly we care about our customers and know they depend on being connected.

***Network Announcement***

We are currently experiencing a fiber outage in the area of Adams County and surrounding. Technicians and Network Engineers are in route to diagnose and fix the issue. I currently don’t have an ETA to complete restoration but assure they are working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Things should be making their way back up at this time. It was quite the hectic morning and a huge thanks to the network engineers and HVAC crews that got complex issues resolved in a timely manner in less than ideal weather. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this undoubtedly caused. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

*** Network Wide Outage ***

There is currently a major Data Center power and cooling issue creating a wide spread network outage. Technicians are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We have not currently received an ETA for restoration at this point. We apologize for the inconvenience. I will try to update as able when information is relayed to me regarding an ETA.

Update 11:18am

Everyone should be coming back online. If you are still experiencing issues your router has likely timed out. You will just need to power cycle your router by unplugging from power for 30 seconds and plugging back in. My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

*** Network Update***

There was a large power outage at our head in Data Center that has caused some significant issues. Technicians and network engineers have worked through the night and continue to work to get everything rectified. If you are currently experiencing issues I do apologize for the inconvenience and don’t currently have a firm eta on everyone being back up and running. I will try to supply an update when available.

07/15/2025

Thursday July 17, 2025 there will be a planned permanent Fiber repair. The planned maintenance will effect customers that were part of the 4th of July weekend outage. We had main fiber cables cut multiple places by vandals over that holiday weekend. In an effort to get customers back up and running as quickly as we possibly could some repairs made were temporary fixes. Those temporary fixes will be permanently fixed Thursday July 17th.

Thursday July 17, 2025 those customers that were effected by the July 4th weekend outage will be down conservatively from 8am to 2pm. Times will vary for different customers but you should plan on being without service for those 6 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience this entire situation has caused. You can reach out to customer support at 740-947-2409 with any questions or concerns.

Update 12:53pm 7/6

Technicians are stretching the final fiber line and have another 192 splices to hopefully get everything back up and running. A conservative estimate would be a couple hours still. Some of the fixes are temporary to lessen the down time as much as we could. We will notify you ahead of time when the permanent fix will take place but that will create very minimal downtime when the switch from temporary to permanent happens. Thank you for your patience during this unfortunate incident. A huge thanks to the technicians that sacrificed their holiday weekend and battled the heat to get everything repaired.

Update 7:09pm 7/5

I would be very surprised if they are able to restore services tonight. We unfortunately fell victim to a lot of vandalism on main Fiber line. Several cuts were made in an effort to steal the fiber that has no value in that form. We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers. Splicers and technicians have worked hard for the last 18 hours but it’s like reconstructing the network all over again. They should be able to get everything spliced and back up sometime tomorrow is the closest to a firm ETA i can give.

***Network Update***

There is currently a fiber outage in the Buckeye Station/Greenbriar area. Technicians are actively working (and have been since late last night, early this morning) to isolate the issue and make necessary repairs. Cell service is very spotty in the area but we will try to update with any ETA information as it comes available. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working as quickly and safely as possible to get everyone restored.hint ky get k aterte
