Google scan calls:

Google does not send automated phone calls regarding account security, login attempts, or password changes. Any unsolicited call claiming to be from Google’s fraud prevention or security team is a scam designed to steal your login credentials or personal information.

How the Scam Works
Spoofed Caller ID: Scammers use technology to make their calls appear to come from legitimate Google numbers (such as +1-650-253-0000 or 1-855-812-4430).
False Urgency: The automated message typically claims there was an unauthorized login attempt or a request to change your password/phone number, urging you to press "1" to secure the account.
Social Engineering: If you press a button or engage with the caller, you are connected to human scammers who may ask for verification codes, passwords, or remote access to your device.
Immediate Steps to Take
Hang Up Immediately: Do not press any buttons or provide any information.
Do Not Trust the Caller ID: Even if the number looks official, it is likely spoofed.
Verify Through Official Channels: If you are concerned about your account, do not use any links or numbers provided by the caller. Instead, go directly to Google’s official Account Recovery page or check your Security Checkup within the Gmail app or Google Account settings.
Check Account Activity: Log in to your Google Account and review recent device activity. If you see unknown devices, sign them out immediately and change your password.
Enable Strong Authentication: Ensure you have Two-Step Verification (2SV) enabled, preferably using an authenticator app or hardware key rather than just SMS, to prevent account takeover.

I have had another customer call me about letting someone log into their computer.
Now everything they have on their computer has been compromised.
I want to stress to anyone reading this NEVER LET ANYONE LOG INTO YOUR COMPUTER. They scare you with loud noises and flashing screens.
The scam always sounds legitimate.
The scammers have gotten better over the-years.
The bottom line Is NEVER LT ANYONE LOG INTO YOUR COMPUTER.
If you ever have questions about an email or a pop up on your computer that frightens you,
DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ON THE SCREEN.

Reputabie companies that you do business with will not try to log into-your computer.
It just doesn't happen.
I will not charge you a penny for advising you when you get one of these emails or pop ups.
I hate it when people get scammed.
It has happened to my family and I detest scammers.
If you have made this mistake and let someone log into your computer I can help but at that time it will be too late and I will charge a fee to fix the issue.

Do not wait till the last minute.

If you have Windows 10 on your computer and you use it on the internet at all, Microsoft support will end on October 14th.

This means that you will no longer receive security updates from Microsoft.

This means your computer will become vulnerable to attacks and malicious activity.

You will either need to upgrade to Windows 11 or get a newer computer with Windows 11.

If you have questions feel free to contact me. I can advise you and if you decide to get a new computer I can move your data over from your older computer. i.e pictures, videos and documents.

My fee for advice may be free depending on the amount of help that you require. If you require an hour long phone call prepare to pay me for my time. Normally around $20

If I put hands on your computer for any reason i.e. diagnostics or checking to see if it is upgradable my fee is $25 whether I do any actual work on it or not.

If I do any work on the computer other than diagnostics the $25 fee is waived and I don't do any work until it is authorized by you.

I will give my recommendation and the total for the repair or upgrade and get authorization from you to proceed with the repair.

I do not attempt to upsell to make money. If I think you are better off investing in a new computer instead of paying me to fix yours I'll tell you. I do computer work as a hobby really. I charge a fee for my time and parts and I have set fees for most things and you will not limp away bleeding. 😁

If I suggest a repair and you choose not to do the repair then the $25 fee is imposed at that point.

I have been working in computers for over 30 years.

I don't work on Apple products, gaming systems (Xbox etc) or Linux nachines.
I don't work on cell phones.
I don't do soldering work.
I don't do houselimits. I work from home and you bring your computer to me. Or I have a couple of places where you can leave your computer in safe hands in Waynesboro city limits.

If you are a computer gamer I might be able to help with a computer repair but I'm not a gamer so I don't know how to get past any level of any game.

If you need assistance message me and if I'm not busy I'll message you my phone number. Or give you a time to call me back if I am busy.

It's hard to get a feel for your issue through text messages. I have to ask questions to get to the heart of your issue. And no, I don't get you to call me and then tell you you have to pay me, unless you're issue takes a long time to decifer over the phone.

Ronald Colton McAbee, a former deputy sheriff from Tennessee, was released from federal prison on January 20, 2025, after receiving a full pardon from President Donald Trump.
McAbee was sentenced to nearly six years in prison in February 2024 for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
During the riot, McAbee, who was on medical leave from his job as a sheriff's deputy, assaulted police officers and was convicted of multiple felonies.
He was also ordered to pay over $30,000 in restitution.
McAbee's wife, Sarah, has been a vocal supporter, stating that his release represents "truth prevailing in the face of adversity".
